Natasha Malpani, former partner at Kae Capital, has launched Boundless Ventures, a ₹200 crore early-stage fund focused on AI-native startups from India. The fund will invest at pre-seed and seed stages, targeting consumer AI applications, infrastructure, agent tooling, healthcare, logistics, and Make-in-India AI hardware. Backed by Malpani’s personal network, Boundless has already made six investments, including Superhealth, Armatrix, PierSight, Knot, and two stealth AI ventures. Apart from capital, the fund will support founders with storytelling, market access, and network building. “Founders who combine technical depth with cultural fluency will set the terms of the next wave. Entrepreneur-investor Kunal Bahl has urged Indian startups to incorporate locally instead of choosing foreign jurisdictions like Singapore or the US, calling the practice “outdated” in the current business landscape. “For years, Indian founders thought incorporating in the US or Singapore made fundraising and exits easier. In 2025, that’s outdated,” Bahl posted on X. “Today, incorporating in India isn’t just patriotic—it’s pragmatic.” The Snapdeal | AceVector Group co-founder also emphasized focusing on building sustainable and profitable businesses rather than chasing the “unicorn” status. “I don’t like the term unicorn. It’s a mythical creature. But a business that’s generating ₹100 crore in revenue, is profitable, and has been running for 15 years—that’s a unicorn,” he remarked. Bahl also dismissed the idea that overseas incorporation offers better fundraising opportunities. “Nearly all VCs are funding Indian entities,” he noted, adding that Indian investors now back startups across sectors, including DeepTech and AI.
