In Bihar, almost 68% of households are landless, owning minimum or no land. However, 75% of them remain dependent on agriculture. To extract more from such small holdings, the use of fertiliser and chemicals is high in Bihar. Considering the extractive agriculture context, PRADAN is committed to promoting Regenerative Agriculture (RA) in the region. To strengthen the ecosystem and enhance RA practices in the area, Bio-Resource Centre (BRC) is one of the promising interventions. Further, its impact potentials encourage rural youth to start their own enterprises. A study helped to understand the market potential of bio-inputs and what can be the BRC-based prototypes. It provides insights into what can be funded. This study will help to select the best products for BRCs and, in turn, support the BRCs more effectively.

🌏 TNFD guidance and Indian nature-related reporting requirements show high level of consistency Released today at the Confederation of Indian Industry 20th Global Sustainability Summit, the India Business & Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) have published guidance outlining the alignment of the Business Responsibility & Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) and TNFD frameworks. The guidance, "Integrating nature-related aspects in BRSR disclosures using the TNFD recommendations", highlights a high level of consistency between the disclosures and metrics recommended by the TNFD and those required of India’s top 1,000 companies under the BRSR requirement, as well as the fact that the BRSR core indicators overlap with many of the TNFD’s core disclosure metrics. 🔗Read the announcement: https://lnkd.in/gNQCQXkC 🔗Read the publication: https://lnkd.in/gpeuV9-y This high level of alignment means that the TNFD’s assessment tools, notably the LEAP approach, can support Indian companies with the preparation of their BRSR reporting on an annual basis. It also means that Indian companies are already well placed to meet the growing information needs of international investors and global customers looking for comparable nature-related disclosures aligned to the TNFD. The BRSR was introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in India to promote environmental, social and governance disclosures among Indian companies. Starting in FY 2022-23, the BRSR framework became mandatory for the top 1,000 listed firms in India, serving as a foundational step toward aligning business practices with national priorities and global sustainability objectives. #iFORESTcolumn    The annual GHG emissions from an AC that is refilled every two years is as much as a car.   Citing findings from iFOREST's survey of 3,100 households across seven Indian cities, iFOREST CEO, Chandra Bhushan writes in The Times Of India about a new challenge facing the air conditioning industry.   "In 2024, refrigerant leakage from ACs emitted greenhouse gases equivalent to 52 million tonnes (MT) of CO₂ and households spent ₹7,000 Crore.
