Pivot Leadership : The Power of Choosing New Paths When we think of leadership, we often imagine a straight path , a ladder where each step takes us higher. But in reality, leadership is less of a ladder and more of a maze. It’s about the pivots we choose, or sometimes the ones that choose us. And it’s in those pivots that the real growth happens. I’ve lived this many times over. Moving across countries didn’t just change my job, it changed me. I learned that culture has its own unspoken codes , that silence in London doesn’t mean the same as silence in Switzerland, that what inspires trust in India may not work in New York. Each pivot across borders expanded not just my world, but my way of seeing people. And if I’m honest, not all of it was smooth. And then, I took the boldest pivot yet , stepping into entrepreneurship. Suddenly, I was learning tech jargon, building financial models, standing in front of investors, not as a banker, but as a dreamer with a vision. Some days I won, many days I failed. But every step taught me resilience and the courage to start again. That same spirit of pivoting shaped my journey with WeAce. We began with a singular focus on women, helping them find their voice, their confidence, their leadership. But soon, we realized that true inclusion is not about one gender; it is about creating equal access for all. So, we pivoted. From women-only to #gender-agnostic coaching. From a network-led model to a #tech-driven platform. And today, our plans are bold and global, scaling across India, the Middle East, Africa, and the UK. That’s the truth of pivot leadership: you win some, you lose some, but the real race is never with peers or competitors. The race is with yourself, to be braver, wiser, and more authentic than you were yesterday. Often, the path you fear the most is the one that brings out the very best in you. ps: how many of you have played with this toy when you were young? 🙂
