However, our current understanding of the combinatorial effects of such mixtures on the stability of proteins remains elusive. In the present study, the stability and structure of recombinant pyrazinamidase (PZase) from Mycobacterium tuberculosis were analyzed in the presence of stabilizing osmolytes (sorbitol, sucrose and glycerol) and alcohols (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol and n-propanol). The far-UV and near-UV circular dichroism (CD), intrinsic fluorescence and thermostability results indicated that methanol, unexpectedly, has stronger effect on destabilization of the enzyme compared to ethanol which has larger log P. Interestingly, the relative half-life of PZase was longer in mixtures methanol with the osmolytes, sorbitol or sucrose (expectedly), or glycerol (unexpectedly), compared to other alcohols. Molecular dynamics simulation results showed that methanol increases the flexibility of region 5-4...

This study aimed to determine the transitional challenges faced by English-speaking learners during the process of acquiring proficiency in Filipino, as well as identify the factors that affect their language-learning journey. By understanding these challenges and factors, educators and language instructors can design effective strategies and interventions to facilitate a smoother transition for English-speaking learners into learning the Filipino language. This study used qualitative design as a research method, data were collected from 8 participants through interviews. Exploratory research was carried out to extract narratives and experiences that are relevant to Englishspeaking learners in learning the Filipino language. The results showed that English-speaking learners often struggle with understanding and speaking the language, particularly with pronunciation, grammar structures, and vocabulary. Additionally, learners may lose interest in the language, making language acquisition more difficult. The factors that facilitate the language transition process were interest and exposure to the target language. The findings of this research will contribute to the existing literature on second language acquisition, specifically focusing on the challenges and factors affecting English-speaking learners in learning the Filipino language. The results will provide valuable insights for language educators and curriculum developers to develop effective teaching methodologies, language materials, and support systems to facilitate a more successful transition for English-speaking learners.

Also, language is used to bargain and speed up the work. One of the variations of the language is the so-called register. The register according to Alcaraz et al. (2005), is also called as style of speech. A person may use different styles in his speech or even in writing to express his feelings. The register is a language variation based on its communication. One of the language registers is the language used by mining miners in Sitio Mina, Barangay Curuan, Zamboanga City. This study is a qualitative research by "Morpho Analysis". The purpose of this study is to examine the lexicon and the meaning of the words in Chavacano used in mining. Similarly, the names, words and phrases used in words. It will also examine the aspect of the Verb language of Chavacano. Based on the research done, mining has been using lexicons or words that are appropriate for their occupation. These words refer to the use, the place, the person, describing and demonstrating the action.
