It is unique in Sicily and located in Palermo: a historic portal is reborn (after 600 years) thanks to our lasers. The 14th-century Chiaramonte Gothic portal of the “Alessandro Scarlatti” Conservatory of Music in Palermo has been restored after nearly six centuries, returning to the city and its conservatory an architectural masterpiece unparalleled in Sicily. The restoration employed specialized techniques, including the use of El.En. S.p.A.’s laser technology. Created around 1370 and relocated to its current site in 1617, the portal stands as a threshold between history and music, preserving its symbolic and identity-defining role. ✨ A dream come true at the Louvre! On Friday, October 24th, we had the honor of celebrating another incredible project that brings together Technology, Art, and a passion for preserving our artistic and cultural Heritage. As an act of patronage, El.En. Group donated the EOS QS laser to the French Ministry of Culture - one of the most advanced technologies in the world for the restoration of cultural assets. The donation ceremony took place at the École du Louvre, home to restoration laboratories and a leading scientific center that supports over 1,200 public restoration facilities across France. The event was attended by Alessandro Zanini and his Light For Art - El.En. team, the management of the C2MRF institute, our wonderful French representatives from ECP, and numerous distinguished figures from the worlds of culture, restoration, and research. Eng. Paolo Salvadeo, General Manager of El.En., officially hand ed over the valuable instrument to Dr. Jean-Michel Loyer-Hascoët, Director of the Center for Research and Restoration of the Museums of France.
