💡 Three months into their development, the EU’s two major Cloud-Edge-IoT Large Scale Pilots (LSPs), O-CEI Horizon and COP-PILOT Horizon, together with the CEI-Sphere Coordination and Support Action have published their first joint press release. 🧭 Backed by the #HorizonEurope programme, O-CEI and COP-PILOT are advancing cross-domain use cases in key sectors such as #electromobility, smart #agriculture, #energy management, and sustainable #manufacturing. These use cases—ranging from smart #EVcharging and #5G-enabled logistics to predictive maintenance in mining and energy-flexible smart cities—are being mapped and analysed by CEI-Sphere in a comprehensive use-case catalogue. CEI-Sphere is also working to develop shared frameworks, including Minimum Interoperability Mechanisms (#MiMs) and a trust label for #CEI systems, to ensure security, interoperability, and replicability across sectors. These developments arrive at an important moment, aligning with the EU’s Competitiveness Compass priorities, which emphasise AI integration, Cloud-Edge-IoT infrastructure, and digital sovereignty as key enablers of Europe's industrial digital transformation. 📊 The scale of this effort is notable: more than 100 partners from over 20 countries are involved. The European Cloud-Edge-IoT market is already valued at €158 billion, growing at more than 11% per year. This has been a great venue to show the capabilities of IDC4EU in the field of #dataspaces. While other companies show strong competences in technology development, IDC4EU brings a great value in understanding the #market, value for customers, quantifying potential market segments, barriers and challenges for adoption in distinct industries, most suitable business models, ecosystem setting and alignment with other investments in #IT, since #dataspaces should not be seen as isolated elements; they are part of a wider strategy for data-driven transformation. Here is where IDC's knowledge on both suppliers and users is instrumental for a proper adoption. We are proud to see the Green Deal Data Space | GREAT Project featured in the latest CORDIS Results Pack on Advancing FAIR and Open Environmental Data, as part of a selected group of EU-funded initiatives contributing to the European Green Deal and Data Strategy. Special recognition goes to our colleague Nevena Raczko, Project Coordinator at IDC, whose leadership and dedication are highlighted in the publication. Her efforts in building a strong and engaged stakeholder community around environmental data have been instrumental to the project’s impact and visibility. The GREAT project is presented in the section on the European Green Deal Data Space, showcasing its role in shaping the foundations for a more open, FAIR, and collaborative environmental data ecosystem across Europe.
