New Publication Alert! We are delighted to share our latest paper published in ChemComm Journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dHkSBTxW This work, developed in collaboration with Erik Woering and Richard Hildner from the University of Groningen, shows that control over aggregation state (disordered → ordered) provides a strategy to tailor emission properties in polymeric systems, which has relevance for AIE-type luminogens and their applications. This work is part of the Aggregation Induced Emission (AIE) themed collection, celebrating the anniversary of the first paper using the “AIE” terminology (published by Ben Zhong Tang in ChemComm Journal 2001)

🔬 New paper out! In this open-access contribution featured on JACS Nanoscience Au, we built large-area molecular junctions using pyridine-terminated OPE molecular wires and showed that rectification emerges when the HOMO and LUMO localize at opposite ends rather than employing a donor–bridge–acceptor motif, thus extending the van Dyck–Ratner concept. An international endeavor that brought together research groups from the Netherlands, Denmark, and the USA, active in the field of molecular electronics. Last week, Andrea Pucci of the Smart Polymer Group had the pleasure of giving a talk at the Cool Roof conference in Milan — an event promoted by Paint & Coatings Italy and expertly organised by Antonio Grillo (#Octima). It was a great opportunity to share our latest research on smart polymer materials for energy-efficient coatings and to connect with experts in the coatings and sustainability fields.
Cool roof conference: #Octima Organization would like to thank the 15 speakers who decided to join the day, promoting their solutions for the cool roof systems and heat reflective coatings formulations, and the 96 worldwide technicians on site and the 23 in-remote for the listening.

🌟 We are very pleased to welcome Paul van den Tempel, from the University of Groningen (https://lnkd.in/dZgdApaE) to the Smart Polymer Group (https://spg.dcci.unipi.it/) at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry, University of Pisa! Paul will join our laboratory for the next three months, working on mechanochromic systems based on Diels–Alder networks. His expertise in dynamic covalent networks, Diels–Alder chemistry, and 3D printing will bring exciting new perspectives to our ongoing projects. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration and to sharing scientific insights together — welcome Paul! 👋 #SmartPolymers #Collaboration #MechanochromicMaterials #DynamicCovalentChemistry

Marco Carlotti and coworkers did a great job!
We made it to the Frontispiece of Small Methods! It took some time to finally see this published, but it's finally out there! A lovely cover we designed for an exciting study (signed by Benedetta Bertoncini) born within the PRIN POLiBATT project, a result of the combined efforts between our group at the Dipartimento di Chimica e Chimica Industriale-UniPi and the battery people of Prof. Federico Bella at the Politecnico di Torino. Enjoy this AI-free cover, with only microscopies and Avogadro 3D-models! (and maybe the paper as well...)
