Venice Design Week is the event dedicated to design that takes place in the city of Venice every October from 2010 to the present. In the 2025 October 11-19. For one week, the Venice lagoon comes alive with exhibitions, conferences and meetings, competitions, workshops, and guided tours that occur in a unique setting, rich in history and modernity. VDW is a widespread event, in symbiosis with the host city’s fabric, weaving through narrow streets and small squares, private galleries and museums, homes and artist studios, shops, and workshops. Venice Design Week invites international entities to participate and provides an opportunity for dialogue between established and emerging designers, companies, artisans, architects, and an inquisitive and passionate public. Si è appena conclusa la sedicesima edizione della Venice Design Week ✨ Ogni anno l’evento cresce, coinvolgendo sempre di più la comunità creativa e trasformando Venezia in un laboratorio a cielo aperto per design, arte e innovazione. Il tema di quest’anno, “Tempora”, ha immaginato un ponte tra passato e futuro: un luogo di incontro tra epoche, culture e conoscenze diverse. In questo contesto, il design supera l’atto creativo individuale per diventare parte di un racconto collettivo, dialogando con l’ambiente naturale, le comunità e le tecnologie in evoluzione. Tra le installazioni più suggestive, “The Light of Rising Tides”: un percorso immersivo che fa provare la sensazione di trovarsi sott’acqua, stimolando una riflessione sull’innalzamento del livello dei mari e sull’impatto sulle città costiere, Venezia in primis. I'm very proud to have delivered our new light art installation "The Light of the rising tides" in the last days at Venice Design Week 2025! In this immersive passage of light and movement, visitors experience the sensation of being underwater. The hypnotic rhythm of waves is translated into light and fabric motion, inviting you to follow and gently disrupt their flow simply by walking through. The installation reflects on the reality of rising sea levels in cities like Venice and Amsterdam, transforming a shared concern into a space for beauty and contemplation. Born in Northern Italy, Magis Official is a creative lab where ideas, craftsmanship, and innovation meet. “Magis” means more, and that’s their spirit, to imagine, to experiment, to go beyond. Designed and made in Italy, for a timeless and sustainable future. Spun, design by Thomas Heatherwick More than a chair, it’s a new way to sit. A perfect balance of movement and form, #Spun recalls a spool of thread or a spinning top. A sculpture when still, it transforms into a playful, dynamic seat in motion, inviting you to rock, spin, and rediscover the joy of play. An unconventional creation by Thomas Heatherwick and Magis, winner of the 2014 Compasso d’Oro ADI. Raviolo, design by Ron Arad Sculptural, functional, and unmistakably bold. Born from Ron Arad’s pursuit of form and Magis’ innovative technology, #Raviolo is made from a single ribbon of rotational-moulded polyethylene.
✨ MEET OUR 2025 DESIGNERS ✨ VDW OUTDOOR SELECTION The Light of Rising Tides We are proud to present The Light of Rising Tides, an installation designed by Studio MAST that transforms the sensation of being underwater into an immersive experience. A journey of light and movement that invites reflection on the delicate balance between cities and the sea, and the future of our coastlines. The installation, presented at Riva Ca’ Di Dio during Venice Design Week 2025, translates the hypnotic rhythm of waves into a fluid carpet of light. As visitors walk through, they become part of the flow, altering the luminous current simply by moving through it. This work celebrates the beauty of water’s movements while reminding us of the fragility of our shared future. Venice, Amsterdam, and many other coastal cities show us how urgent it is to reflect on the impact of climate change and rising sea levels.
