This is what 3 GW of European solar cell & module manufacturing looks like.   Our Deputy CEO, Dries Acke made the journey to Sicily to experience 3SUN Gigafactory in Catania.   While there, we spoke with 3SUN CEO Stefano Lorenzi about what's needed to support Europe's biggest solar cell and module factory:   "We need to have some mechanism… to establish a level playing field. PPC Group participates in the European research project SOLARIS project, co-funded by the Horizon Europe program, to enhance the efficiency and reliability of photovoltaic plants. The project develops an integrated set of physical and digital tools that improve forecasting, optimize performance, and support maintenance of PV systems. Its goal is to increase efficiency and availability, while reducing the cost of generated energy by 10%. PPC contributes with real-world data from its 2.6 MW Bitakos photovoltaic park in Kastro-Lykovouni, providing a testing ground for validation of SOLARIS solutions. At the same time, PPC leads the exploitation strategy of the project, focusing on business models and market analysis to maximize the application of results. Participation in SOLARIS is part of PPC’s transformation into a PowerTech Group, linking energy with innovation and reinforcing our role in Europe’s green and digital transition. 🏗️✅ Last solar panel installed at Black Hollow Sun! 🌞🚧⚡ The installation of the last solar panel marks a key moment in the construction of any solar plant, marking the transition towards commissioning. For our Black Hollow Sun (#BHS) project, it's especially important: we are now one step closer to the start of commercial operations at our very first renewable plant in the United States. This final panel is one of more than 310,000 solar panels installed at Black Hollow Sun Phase I over the past few months, including also American-assembled technology supplied by Qcells USA Corp. With its 185 MWp of installed capacity, Phase I will soon be followed by Phase II, adding another 139 MWp and scheduled for completion in 2026. In Italy’s Apulia region, the first section of a 3.6 MW solar plant is now producing clean energy, powered by Convert tracker technology and bifacial modules to boost performance.   Built for high yield and long-term reliability, it is expected to generate around 6,400 MWh annually — a tangible step forward in Italy’s clean energy journey.   One of many distributed projects under development, proving that impactful renewable solutions can be delivered quickly, reliably, and at scale. The formula is straightforward: CUF = ActualEnergyOutput / InstalledCap×No.Hrs×Day ✅️ Let's break down the components: Actual Energy Output: The total energy generated by the plant (in kWh). Installed Capacity: The maximum power the plant can produce (in kW or MW). Number of Hours in a Month: The total operating hours in the period (e.g., a month).
