    The rise in hunger and food insecurity, fueled by a complex interplay of factors, demands immediate action at the highest political level and coordinated global efforts to alleviate this critical development and humanitarian challenge.

    The legitimacy and effectiveness of the multilateral system is increasingly questioned. Voices from civil society and the Global South raise concerns about representation, inclusiveness, accountability, and transparency. Others express concern at perceived duplication, inefficiencies, and institutional complexities, and wonder whether current global governance mechanisms, including those related to food, nutrition, and agriculture are fit for purpose.

    Global leaders have already largely coalesced around possible solutions on food prices and availability. KA Commission on Food Security will make an in-depth and frank review of the governance architecture – including both formal organizations and the web of less-formal public and private networks – that shape global action on food and nutrition.

    The Commission will complement these existing efforts by focusing specifically on multilateral mechanisms and other elements of the global governance structures for food and security, and on opportunities for improvements, innovation or even a complete redesign of these structures.

    The KA Foundation, with the support of The Rockefeller Foundation, has convened an eminent group of leaders to review the current challenges to the global food security architecture; develop policy recommendations and possible models for a transformed global food governance system; and mobilize political commitment to adopt a new system that is fit-for-purpose to achieve a world with sustainable, equitable and resilient food security.

    The Executive Master in Food Innovation and Regeneration is a unique part-time hybrid program jointly developed by BBS and Future Food Institute, an inclusive network and platform that is making exponential positive change through education and innovation in global food systems. Our joint commitment aspires to empower the most brilliant minds in the industry, equipping them with the skills and competences necessary to instigate positive transformations in the agrifood industry.

    The program has a hybrid format, blending online weekly sessions with two in-person Smart Weeks. This structure aims to strike the perfect balance between work, family commitments, and study. The two in person smart week will involve immersive on-campus experiences held in the Food Valley and the in Living Lab in Pollica (Cilento).

    The Food Innovation Program offered at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) and in partnership with the Institute for the Future and Future Food Institute, is a full time advanced comprehensive Master’s program that spans across the fields of food, innovation and entrepreneurship in order to meet requirements of the modern and future course of the food industry. The Food Innovation Program aims to identify the critical technologies for shaping agriculture, food distribution, retail and consumption while taking into consideration food safety, social relationships and regulations. In addition, the program aims to expand and develop radical innovations outlined in the Institute for the Future (IFTF) forecast map, Seeds of Disruption: How Technology is Remaking the Future of Food. The Program is one of the few programs of its kind that is inspired by the Reggio Approach teaching methodology that acknowledges and cultivates creativity and interest in learning.

    The Chocothon aims to empower and connect cocoa farmers and create new opportunities for them and other value chain stakeholders in cocoa production. The first event took place from January 18th to 22nd 2017 at the Impact Hub in Accra, Ghana.
