SHAPING POLICY FROM THE CLASSROOM 🖋️ Following a United Nations University-MERIT and UNRWA collaboration, three UNU-MERIT students delved into the political and financial challenges UNRWA faces in times of crisis. The results are three theses and accompanying policy briefs, which directly inform the responses of the UN agency and strengthen its resilience. The student-centred UNU-UNRWA collaboration illuminates how scholarly analysis and policy research can reinforce and support the UN's mission when it faces heightened external pressures. 🇺🇳 On #UNDay 2025, we highlight a collaboration with UNRWA that shows how graduate research can support United Nations agencies under pressure. Three students (Maryia Rud, Joana Gonçalves and Anthi Pantazi) under the joint supervision of Zina Nimeh, focused on the resilience of social protection in the West Bank, the integrity of human rights education and the coordination of refugee education across UN bodies.
