This evening, at AERO CLUB OF EAST AFRICA, we unveiled a first-of-its-kind Pilot Loss of Licence Cover, a solution designed to protect aviators’ livelihoods when illness or accidents threaten their ability to fly. Speaking at the launch, James Kuria MBITHI, CEO & Principal Officer, Britam General Insurance, reaffirmed Britam’s commitment to customer-centric innovation and emphasised that a pilot’s licence is a major investment in their career. Chirchir Leonard, Ag. COO Britam General Insurance added: “This cover protects pilots from loss of licence in case of illness or accident, whether temporary or permanent. In the event of permanent total disability, it pays up to five years of annual earnings, and for temporary loss, pilots receive monthly compensation of three per cent during recovery.” The event was graced by our Britam Group MD and CEO, Tom Gitogo, representatives from Acentria Group, Zamara Kenya, Minet Kenya and Kenya Association of Air Operators (KAAO) . With this solution, Britam continues to safeguard the dreams of aviators in the line of duty, giving Kenya’s aviation professionals the confidence to take off knowing their future is secure.
