The Principal Secretary, Science, Research, and Innovation, Ministry of Education, Shaukat Abdulrazak, officially opened the 4th Multi-Sectoral Conference and Exhibition on Research, Science, Tech, and Innov. at LNR, Naivasha, Nakuru County, running from June 9-12, 2025. In his speech, the PS highlighted the critical role of STI in Kenya's journey towards inclusive, knowledge-driven development, aligning with Vision 2030 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
The PS thanked the Conference organizer, National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation and its co-convenors Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA), National Research Fund Kenya, Konza Technopolis, KIPI Kenya Industrial Property Institute, The Engineers Board of Kenya and Sigalagala National Polytechnic amongst others, emphasizing the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration across government, academia, private sector, and counties.
The PS noted the involvement of high school students in the conference as a way of mentorship and nurturing their interest in STEM as a pathway to the next generation workforce. In relation to this, he affirmed his commitment to reintroducing the Annual Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Week. This critical platform will reinforce Kenya's position as a regional leader in STI, driving forward our national agenda and global competitiveness.
