Empowering Pro-bono Legal Representation
About us
The Project Justice Initiative is dedicated to leveling the playing field and empowering pro-bono legal representation in the Republic of Kenya. Founded by Somo Group Intelligence, and run by expert volunteers the initiative aims to provide access to fair, balanced forensic-legal support for underprivileged accused persons. Recognizing the high cost of investigations and specialized forensic services needed in litigation, The Project Justice Initiative bridges the gap by offering free investigation and forensic science services to those who otherwise would not have the means to afford it in their pursuit of justice.

Ever wondered if bad science could play a role in wrongful prosecution? Stay tuned for the next segment where our team member and volunteer COLLIN WEIR delves into this important topic and explores ways to ensure fairness in the legal system. To bridge the gap between scientific research and justice, it is crucial to establish collaboration between our volunteers and legal professionals. Volunteers can contribute to the initiative by joining as expert or by ofering legal advice. Partners can support the cause by funding our ongoing #probono projects. These partnerships can help ensure that those who cannot afford proper legal representation receive a fair trial. #csr #254csr #forensics #volunteers #tpjivolunteers #tpji #somogroup #lawyers #litigation #litigationsupport #justice #trials

The Project Justice Initiative: Revolutionizing Access to Forensic Defense By volunteering your time and expertise with The Project Justice Initiative, you are contributing to a groundbreaking effort to bridge the gap for financially disadvantaged individuals in the criminal justice system. This initiative addresses a pressing issue: under the Kenyan laws, up to 80% of defendants do not have access to forensic investigation services, compromising their ability to mount a robust defense and violating their guaranteed right to fair trials (Article 50). #TPJI is making strides to transform this problem by providing skilled professionals like you the opportunity to use your experience and expertise to provide much-needed investigative services to those who otherwise could not afford them. Volunteers with #TPJI contribute to a fairer and more just legal system by directly supporting vulnerable individuals in need of scientific analysis and evidence gathering. Their efforts counteract systemic issues that lead to unequal access to justice, and contribute to restoring faith in the legal system itself. #TPJI #SGICSR #CSR #csrKe #sgigroup #forensics #forensicinvestigators #investigators #scientists #lawyers #2025 #probonoinvestigations #probonoservices

The Project Justice Initiative (TPJI) was a project established with to help financially disadvantaged individuals receive sufficient legal representation by providing them with top forensic experts. They observed that about 20% of individuals were able to pay for the representation ,hence they have access to adequate evidence to protect themselves from false accusations. However, the remaining 80% lacked the requisite resources for expert forensic help, leaving many in legal jeopardy. To address this issue, TPJI calls for action and urges for the assistance of investigators, medical professionals, and legal experts in their mission to address and resolve this significant problem. The inspiration behind TJPI is a lack of access to adequate investigation and forensic support for many defendants. This issue can have significant implications as a fair trial is a fundamental right guaranteed by Kenyan law under Article 50. To address this, TPJI invites experts from various fields to contribute their skills and knowledge to ensure that individuals have access to a robust defence. Their ultimate goal is to make a difference in people's lives by bridging the gap in access to legal resources. To volunteer: 📩 [email protected]

Every defendant deserves a fair trial, as guaranteed by Kenyan law. However, the reality is that 4 out of every 5 defendants face prosecution without adequate legal defense, as they simply cannot afford it. We're on a mission to change that, and we're calling on all caring volunteers to join us, so we can make a difference in the lives of individuals who need legal representation. 📩 [email protected]
