But with outreach clinics introduced by Amref Health Africa through the Saving Lives and Livelihoods project, supported by Africa CDC and the Mastercard Foundation, access has radically improved. 🌟 #LeadershipInAction 🌟 chikondi masamba, Nursing Officer at the Malawi Ministry of Health and a cohort member of our 2025 Family Planning & Contraceptive Access Leadership Journey, is making waves in public health research! Chikondi recently co-authored an important study with Alinane Linda Nyondo-Mipando and Vincent Jumbe titled: “Barriers and strategies to enhance HPV vaccine uptake in adolescents living with HIV and their guardians in Lilongwe, Malawi.” This research highlights: 🔹 Barriers such as misconceptions, misinformation, and vaccine shortages. 🔹 Strategies including raising awareness, ensuring resources, and integrating HPV interventions into teen clubs to reach unvaccinated adolescents. By addressing these challenges, this work contributes to reducing the risk of HPV-related cancers among female adolescents living with HIV, a crucial step toward improving health outcomes in Malawi.
