Each account includes 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 with full domestic and international functionality. Core banking features include Iris payments, SEPA transfers, utility bill payments, and cross-border transactions. The platform emphasizes transparency with no hidden fees and provides financial education resources with 24/7 human customer care. The neobank operates as a fully licensed European Union bank, combining digital-first approach with traditional banking stability. I’m proud to share that Elcoin has successfully supported our client Alunafi - Worldwide digital payments in joining the 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗔 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 via the Bank of Latvia’s EKS infrastructure. This marks another significant integration in our portfolio — now over 𝟯𝟱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 with banks, PSPs, and clearing systems. What made this project stand out was the 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝘃𝗶𝗮, especially Olga Bespaļko and her colleagues. Their responsiveness, clarity, and collaborative approach were instrumental — particularly important for 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 navigating the early stages of SEPA participation. Europe’s #mobile #payment landscape is fragmented between domestic local players solutions (e.g., Swish, Bizum, TWINT), global OEM Pays (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and emerging pan-European initiatives (e.g., #EPI’s #Wero, EuroPA). Domestic systems grew @ 46% CAGR (2017–2023), OEM Pays @ 70% CAGR. OEM Pays dominate in major markets: In markets without strong local players, Germany, France, Italy, Apple Pay and Google Pay have gained ground rapidly, benefitting from native smartphone integration and international card scheme rails. Local players outperform in home markets: In countries like Sweden, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland, domestic mobile A2A systems process 7–25% of card-equivalent volumes and are ahead of OEM Pays in penetration. Their success hinges on strong bank collaboration, P2P functionality, and local relevance. Interoperability is advancing but complex: Initiatives like EPI, EMPSA European Mobile Payment Systems Association, and #EuroPA aim to bridge domestic systems across borders. However, full technical and commercial harmonization remains a long-term challenge and likely a 10+ year journey. While there is a strategic shift toward regional clusters, consolidation around multi-national collaborations (e.g., EPI–EuroPA partnership) is emerging as a more realistic scenario than a single unified EU solution. Revolut is now Lithuania’s largest bank, after only five years #Revolut has achieved a remarkable milestone: it is now the largest bank in Lithuania by assets, just five years after securing its license there. According to the central bank, Revolut now commands 30.8% of the Lithuanian market, overtaking long-time leaders Swedbank (24.4%), SEB (19.6%), Luminor (10.5%) and the recently rebranded Artea (6.6%). Licensed in Lithuania but serving 50 million customers across 30 EEA countries, Revolut has rapidly grown its local footprint with more than 650,000 Lithuanian clients. In 2024 alone, retail customers grew 24%, business clients 57%, and youth accounts 47%. This year, Revolut also entered the housing loan market, further cementing its presence alongside its full suite of digital banking, credit, investment, and savings products. Traditional banks, however, stress that Revolut’s dominance reflects pan-European assets rather than purely domestic competition. Swedbank, SEB and Artea continue to report strong loan and deposit growth, with Artea doubling its loan book to €3.5 billion since 2019.
