About ICN2

Located in Bellaterra, Barcelona, ICN2 hosts 19 research groups and cutting-edge facilities dedicated to advancing nanoscale science for societal impact.

Role Overview

The Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to lead efforts in developing Pb-free halide perovskite solar cells for printed electronics, contributing to cleaner and more sustainable photovoltaic technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Synthesis:

    • Pb-free halide perovskites and 2D materials (MXenes, oxides).

  • Ink Formulation:

    • Develop sustainable ink formulations for perovskite devices.

  • Device Fabrication:

    • Fabricate solar cells, memristors, and thin-film transistors (TFTs) via solution processing.

  • Characterization & Stability Testing:

    • Conduct in-situ analysis under ISOS protocols.

  • Research Dissemination:

    • Prepare scientific manuscripts, reports, and conference presentations.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to proposal writing.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in electronic engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, or related fields.

  • Proven publication record.

  • Hands-on experience in thin film and solar cell fabrication via solution methods.

  • Strong data analysis, communication, and time management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in 2D materials functionalization.

  • Familiarity with ISOS stability testing protocols.
