At the recently concluded 31st Nigerian Economic Summit , organised by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), our Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Girish Sharma , joined other industry leaders Ernest Ndukwe (Chairman, MTN) and Olugbenga Agboola (CEO, Flutterwave) on a high-level plenary titled “Titans on the Move: Africa’s Multinationals”, moderated by Cecilia Akintomide , Chairperson of the United Nations Sanitation and Hygiene Fund. Girish shared powerful insights on why Guinness Nigeria has remained relevant for 75 years, anchored on doing business with a long-term vision rather than through the short lens of electoral cycles. He also emphasized the role of technology in driving business expansion not just for Guinness but also across the Tolaram Group, the importance of policy frameworks that enable and sustain business growth, and the need for businesses to go beyond profit-making by positively impacting host communities and contributing to national development. The Nigerian Economic Summit continues to be a great platform for the convergence of the public and private sectors to discuss solutions that can drive Nigeria’s sustainable growth. It was also great to have our Corporate Relations Team present to lend support on such an important platform. #NES31 #NES2025 #BusinessLeadership #PublicPrivatePartnership #SustainableGrowth #GuinnessNigeria

Our Managing Director Girish Sharma attended the Maverick Research AMC & TICON Africa Conference in Accra, where he spoke to over 300 senior marketing executives from 30 countries. He highlighted Guinness Nigeria's 75-year journey, which began in 1962 with the opening of its first brewery outside of Ireland. He stated that this milestone is more than just manufacturing beverages; it represents a legacy of opportunity creation, cultural impact, and support to nation development. In his remarks, he highlighted key lessons shaping Guinness Nigeria’s success: localization as a strategy for building trust, culture as lived through leadership actions, and empowered teams as drivers of stronger outcomes. Since Tolaram's acquisition, these principles have driven the company's evolution, with a greater emphasis on operational excellence, local supply chains, resilience, and collaborative growth with Nigerian communities. He added that the 75-year legacy belongs not only to Guinness, but to all Nigerians who have taken part in the trip.
In 1962, Guinness trusted Nigeria with its very first brewery outside of Ireland 🌍 75 years of Guinness in Nigeria is not just about brewing great beverages, it’s about building a legacy, creating opportunities, and contributing to nation-building. It is a powerful legacy, but it is also just the beginning of what we can achieve. Guinness Nigeria has always been more than a brand; it is part of the social and cultural fabric of this country. At the Maverick Research AMC & TICON Africa Conference in Accra, I had the privilege of sharing our journey with over 300 senior marketing leaders from 30 countries. The conversations reinforced a few truths I hold close: Localization is a winning strategy — tailoring products and experiences to local realities builds deeper trust and stronger brands. Culture is lived, not written — the daily actions and choices of leadership shape an organization far more than words on a wall. Empowered teams deliver better outcomes - when people feel safe, resourced, and trusted, execution accelerates. Since the Tolaram takeover, these lessons have guided us as we evolve the culture of Guinness Nigeria. From strengthening operational excellence to building greater reliance on local supply chains, we are focused on resilience, empowerment, and shared growth with Nigerian communities. This 75-year legacy doesn’t belong to Guinness alone, but to every Nigerian who has been part of the journey. #GuinnessNigeria75 #AMCTICONAfrica #NationBuilding #Sustainability #Innovation #Leadership #Tolaram
