PRESS RELEASE OTL: NNPC Ltd Renews Commitment to Robust Downstream Infrastructural Development The NNPC Ltd has reiterated its commitment to the development and revamping of downstream across the country to enhance collaboration and drive efficiency in the sector. Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bayo Ojulari, stated this at the opening ceremony of the 2025 OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week in Lagos on Monday. Speaking on the conference's theme "Energy Sustainability: Beyond Boundaries & Competition", Ojulari said competition alone was no longer enough to drive efficiency, adding that operators must embrace collaboration, sustainability, and resilience as the new benchmarks for success. "At NNPC, we are committed to deploying additional infrastructure across the oil and gas value chain while revamping our existing downstream infrastructure nationwide. These assets will be accessible to partners seeking to store and transport products, supporting strategic alliances and collaboration in the downstream sector," the GCEO said. He disclosed that a cocktail of factors ranging from strategic policies and fiscal incentives to transparent and well-structured regulatory frameworks exemplified by the PIA have engendered expansion and growth in the sector requiring new skill sets and further investments in new lines of business such as Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and mini-LNG projects. He urged participants at the conference to discuss challenges and align on opportunities "to redefine energy systems in ways that are both profitable and sustainable, to forge cross-sector partnerships that transcend traditional competition, and to explore innovative business models and technologies that support decarbonization while driving economic value". PRESS RELEASE NNPC Ltd Hails President Tinubu on Ekperikpe, Mshelbila’s Emergence as Chairman, Secretary General of GECF NNPC Ltd. has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his role in the emergence of Nigeria's candidate, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Ltd., as the new Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), describing it as a historic moment for Nigeria and a testimony to the Federal Government’s Gas Agenda aimed at utilising natural gas as a major fuel for industrial growth and economic development. Mshelbila, who was elected at the Forum’s 27th Ministerial Meeting held in Doha, Qatar, on Thursday, succeeds Algeria’s Mohamed Hamel as the 5th scribe of the global organisation, which has been a leading voice in positioning natural gas as a cornerstone of global sustainable development. Speaking on the milestone, the Group Chief Executive Officer, NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari said, “NNPC Ltd. is proud of what Mshelbila has achieved at Nigeria LNG, where he has worked tirelessly to transform Nigeria's vast gas reserves into export-grade LNG, LPG, and condensates, serving domestic needs and global markets in the process,” he said. “With this feat, Philip Mshelbila has put Nigeria on the global energy map for good. The GCEO also congratulated the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, on his emergence as President of the 2026 GECF Ministerial Meeting, saying the Minister has been at the forefront of championing efforts to harness Nigeria’s abundant gas resources for industrialisation and economic development. The GECF is an international intergovernmental organisation that provides a platform for the exchange of experience and information among its Member Countries. Representing the world’s leading gas-exporting nations, the GECF aims to foster constructive dialogue between gas producers and consumers to enhance the stability and security of global gas supply and demand. The organisation’s membership includes Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. NNPC LIMITED POWERS THE FUTURE: CHAMPIONING FEMALE LEADERSHIP AT CAREER CLINIC In a landmark effort to empower Nigeria’s next generation of female professionals, NNPC Limited/SNEPCo PSC, together with Ascent Club and the University of Lagos, hosted the inaugural Career Clinic: Career Readiness Skills for the Real World. The event, held on the 11th of October 2025, welcomed 150 final-year female students for a day of mentorship, career guidance, and direct engagement with industry leaders. Nkechi Anaedobe, Head, Business Services, NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), in her Keynote Speech, noted that the event provided a golden opportunity to pay forward the mentorship which helped her grow in her career. She reiterated that mentoring does a lot for the individual and the company, and society. “It is a tool that is never too late to learn to use, and I am glad I was able to contribute to this while soaking up even more,” she added. “The event was a testament to the joys and impact of collaboration with a clear view of what good looks like,” she concluded. Throughout the day, students participated in sessions led by professionals from NNPC Limited, SNEPCo, and a host of other experts from various fields covering topics such as employability skills, personal branding, leadership development, and long-term mentorship. The Career Clinic followed the successful launch of the Top 100 Career Women in Africa Initiative earlier this year and marked a significant expansion of its mission.
