Amsterdam Airport City strengthens ties with Japan 🤝 The trade and innovation relationship between the Netherlands and Japan goes back to the 17th century and is built on a strong entrepreneurial spirit. This legacy was once again underlined last week during a special mission to Japan. As part of the international liaison activities and in the run-up to World Expo Osaka 2025, Marja Ruigrok (Deputy Mayor of Gemeente Haarlemmermeer, Municipality) and Patrick Verhulst (Director Amsterdam Airport City) visited several leading companies with a strong presence in Amsterdam Airport City: KYOCERA Document Solutions, advancing in high-tech instruments. Kubota Corporation, an innovation hub for cutting-edge R&D. Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., gaining insights into production technologies for continuous improvement. ASICS, pioneering smart sports technologies to promote health and well-being. In addition, we met with logistics partners NX GROUP (NIPPON EXPRESS GROUP) and Yusen Logistics, both firmly rooted in our region, where they are driving smart shipping solutions and efficiency in global supply chains. A heartfelt thanks to our associates for making this mission unforgettable and for further strengthening our connection, both globally with Japan and locally in Haarlemmermeer.

🌳 A Greener Future ahead! 🌳 We’re excited to share a major milestone in the reforestation of Venneperhout, which is symbolically known as the Vliegerlaantje – or ‘Kite Lane’! The first 75 new trees have now been planted! This is part of a broader effort to replace 500 diseased ash trees, ensuring a healthier and more resilient natural environment. This initiative is made possible by Kite Pharma, which donated the trees, in collaboration with Staatsbosbeheer. Just as Kite works on developing cancer treatments, their support for replacing diseased trees with healthy ones reflects a deeper commitment to healing—both people and nature. 🌱 Beyond sustainability, this project also fosters connections between businesses, local stakeholders, and education, strengthening the ties between the labor market and future talent. This is just the beginning! More trees will be planted in the coming months, bringing us closer to a greener, healthier region thanks to Kite Pharma! #Sustainability #Reforestation #AmsterdamAirportCity #GreenBusiness #EnvironmentalResponsibility
