The EU could gain another Luxembourg in terms of GDP! All thanks to… the EV charging industry 💡 📈 ➡️ The EV charging sector is a net positive on the European economy, set to generate €94 billion by 2035 - the equivalent of the GDP of Luxembourg! In total, this represents a 514% growth since 2024. ➡️ Between 2019 and 2024 alone, the value pool of the industry has increased significantly, with an annual average growth rate of 47%, from nearly €2.4 billion to over €15.3 billion in 2024. This momentum highlights the immense value the sector is bringing to the region’s economic development, and what Europe has to gain from the electric transition - yet another reason why the continent should #TakeCharge and invest in its e-mobility. #TakeChargeEU #TakeChargeEurope #Emobility #EV

🚛 New on EAFO: Public HDV recharging data now live! ⚡ EAFO has just published, for the first time, monthly data on publicly accessible recharging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) across the EU27. 🔹 1,512 public HDV recharging stations are now operational in the EU-27 🔹 These are located across 444 public recharging pools (locations) 🔹 18 EU countries already host at least one HDV-capable location 🔹 🥇Germany (495 stations / 98 pools), 🥈Sweden ( 278 stations / 108 pools), 🥉the Netherlands (246 stations / 89 pools), Denmark (158 stations / 41 pools) and France (105 stations / 35 pools) lead the way in deployment Most of these facilities are mixed-use sites where HDV chargers coexist with light-duty vehicle infrastructure, while a smaller but growing share is exclusively dedicated to HDVs, reflecting early progress in the transition towards zero-emission freight and bus transport. The data are now visible on EAFO’s EU27 Country Comparison page, with future integration into each country page and the TEN-Tec Interactive Map Viewer, where users will soon be able to view the same data as recharging pools.
