How is the EU supporting research and innovation (R&I) in the post-COVID era? 🌍 Amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic, the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) was launched to support economic recovery, accelerate green and digital transitions, and strengthen resilience across Member States. 🤝 🔍 Our recently published study explores how RRF investments and reforms have advanced research and innovation (R&I) across all European Member States, analysing 387 measures from national Recovery and Resilience Plans (RRPs). The evaluation covers key criteria such as effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence, and EU added value, offering insights into both strategic and operational impacts. Conducted for the European Commission by an Ecorys-led consortium with CSIL, Wavestone, and National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), this study provides evidence-based findings to inform future European R&I policy and funding instruments. 💡 🔗 Read the full case study on our website 👉 https://lnkd.in/etTKiVCD #RRF #ResearchandInnovation #Recovery #BetterRegulation

  • SAFE Programme Materials Now Available Online! We’re delighted to share that all materials from the Stopping Abuse & Female Exploitation (SAFE) programme, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), are now publicly available. Since 2019, Ecorys has led the implementation of the SAFE programme in Zimbabwe, aimed at designing and piloting an innovative approach to prevent and respond to gender-based violence (GBV). Through this work, the team developed the ‘Toose’ GBV Prevention & Response Model – an evidence-based, curriculum-led, and community-driven approach designed to reduce GBV and strengthen the economic and social empowerment of women and girls. ‘Toose’ is a Shona word meaning ‘together’. The Toose model has demonstrated promising results in improving household wellbeing, enhancing women’s decision-making power, and fostering safer, more equitable communities. We’re proud to announce that all Toose programme materials are now freely accessible online, including:  📘 Toose Implementation Guide  📗 Toose Economic Empowerment Facilitators Guide  📙 Toose Social Empowerment Facilitators Guide  📕 Toose GBV Response Guide  📔 Toose Community Diffusion Guide  📄 Toose Fidelity Brief  🎥 Plus, a set of 10 video guides introducing and demonstrating the Toose approach in action. We invite partners, practitioners, and policymakers across Zimbabwe and beyond to explore these resources and consider how the Toose model can inform GBV prevention and response initiatives in their own contexts. 👉 Access all materials here: https://lnkd.in/ex7Fj9UH #SAFEProgramme #GBVPrevention #GenderEquality #Zimbabwe #SocialImpact #TooseModel #WomensEmpowerment #FCDO #Ecorys #SDDirect #Musasa #MDTC #Caritas #PlanInternational #JFKapnek #SelfHelpDevelopmentFoundation #TetraTechInternationalDevelopment

  • 🌍 Advancing Europe’s Geothermal Potential Geothermal energy is a key pillar for achieving Europe’s climate neutrality goals, yet its potential remains largely untapped due to regulatory complexity, data gaps, and investment risks. We are proud to announce that Ecorys will support the European Commission (DG ENER) in mapping the regulatory frameworks for geothermal energy across the EU.  🔍 Our research will build on two key pillars:  🔹 Assessment of regulatory frameworks in EU Member States: We will conduct an EU-wide mapping of regulatory frameworks, providing an overview of enabling conditions relevant to geothermal energy and access to subsurface data.  🔹 Assessment of financing frameworks: We will help the Commission identify which support mechanisms best suit different geothermal projects, highlighting case studies with innovative business models and financing solutions. By combining policy expertise with technical know-how, Ecorys will deliver a roadmap that accelerates geothermal deployment and supports the EU’s green transition. 🌱⚡ #GeothermalEnergy #GreenTransition #ClimateNeutrality #SustainableEnergy
