Building a Global Quantum Internet Made in Europe
Over ons
Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA) is a consortium of 42 world-leading institutions working together to build a global Quantum Internet made in Europe. By combining QIA’s diverse interdisciplinary team, we will establish an innovative European platform for Quantum Internet development and build a full-stack prototype network that has the potential to become the first of its kind in the world. Led by QuTech, QIA consists of academic institutions, telecom operators, system integrators and quantum technology start-ups across nine (9) European countries. It is currently co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant number 101102140.

🤔What can the #quantuminternet actually do? The QIA Use Case Team led by Michele Amoretti has been working on gathering real-world use cases that show how quantum technologies can support privacy, security and performance in practice, not just in theory. From secure proxy voting and anonymous whistleblowing to quantum clock sync and astronomical imaging, the examples we are working on highlight how a general-purpose quantum internet could serve a wide range of domains.
