Our Chief Engagement Officer, Cristina Gil White, and ASEAN Director, Dr Allinnettes Adigue, were in Singapore for #RIAsia2025, one of Asia’s main sustainable finance events. 💬 They highlighted the growing importance of Asia as a region where sustainable finance and responsible business practices are rapidly gaining momentum, and shared how GRI is supporting organizations to build sustainable, long-term value. Companies in Asia are among the world’s most active users of the #GRIStandards, helping businesses from large corporates to SMEs to assess and report environmental, social and economic impacts. Through our ASEAN network, we provide guidance and resources to enhance transparency and accountability in sustainability practices across the region. Last week, we came together as #OneGRI for our first-ever full-team retreat – to reconnect, reflect and chart the route ahead 🧭 Through group challenges and workshops, we explored how our values and strategy can help us achieve lasting impact 💡 Our main takeaways? Reporting, and helping organizations realize the value of impacts, is more important than ever.
Last week, we gathered more than 100 GRI colleagues from 20+ countries in the Dutch countryside, to hold our first ever full-team retreat. We met at a time of many challenges -- and opportunities. How would we show up? As our facilitator commented, the energy was palpable from the get-go. There was much to catch up on, much to share. Many people were meeting for the first time. We reflected on values. We did design sprints to rethink some things and to develop new ideas. And we dove into Lego (!) to explore who we might become. Many in the team stepped up over the past few months to help organize the retreat -- chapeau! Beyond the program, we talked and we connected. We ate sweets brought from around the world. We sang, danced, played cards -- and then we ate, talked and connected more. So much excitement, commitment and gratitude. “The question isn't if we can weather this unknown, But how we will weather this unknown together.” -- Amanda Gorman, Call Us What We Carry We departed as One GRI. 🙌

⚠️Discarded devices often release hazardous substances that contaminate soil & air, threatening ecosystems and human health. ♻️ That’s why, on #InternationalEWasteDay, we’re highlighting the growing challenge of #electronicwaste — one of the fastest-growing sources of pollution. #GRI306: Waste 🗑️ and #GRI301: Materials 📦 enable organizations to disclose their approach to #wastemanagement across operations and value chains. Meanwhile, we’re developing new #pollution Standards 💨 to expand transparency on air and soil emissions. GRI reporting helps illuminate how organizations can use cleaner production and #circulareconomy practices to turn e-waste challenges into opportunities 💡 Find out the latest on our plans for new disclosures on pollution 👉 https://lnkd.in/dqcBmu96

⚠️ What does pushback on #ESG mean for the future of #sustainabilityreporting? And how can we resolve concerns about fragmentation through globally aligned disclosure requirements? 💬 Discussing these topics and more, our CEO Robin Hodess recently met with Corporate Disclosures. Three takeaways from the interview include 👉 🤝 ‘In this business of sustainability, we could do with more collaboration than competition… We need to work towards building something that's more lasting, bigger and more ambitious.’ 💡 ‘GRI is mission-driven. We'd go so far as to say that sustainability reporting starts with #impacts... It's about understanding where impacts are a part of the global system.’ ✅ ‘Disclosures are vital: without reliable #sustainabilitydata, businesses, investors, journalists, academics & communities cannot drive the changes needed.’ To find out more, read the article in full 📰 https://lnkd.in/eNpTCcQy
