The IKEA retail business is operated through a franchise system. Today, 12 different groups of companies market and sell the IKEA product range under franchise agreements with Inter IKEA Systems B.V. IKEA was founded in Sweden in 1943.

    Vi höjer priset på en kopp kaffe och introducerar kaffe med hopp ☕❤️ Prishöjningen, som är tillfällig och frivillig, görs för att stötta det viktiga arbete som den ideella organisationen Mind gör för alla som kämpar med ensamhet, ångest och psykisk ohälsa. Med en av årets största högtider runt hörnet längtar många efter att få fira jul tillsammans med familj och vänner. Men julen är inte varm och glädjefylld för alla – för vissa är julen en av årets mest utmanande stunder. Det återspeglas i hur många som kontaktar den ideella organisationen Mind för att få stöd under julen. Mellan den 9 och 23 december erbjuds kunderna att köpa kaffe med hopp för fem kronor extra. IKEA Sverige dubblar kundernas bidrag och hela summan går till Mind. – Vi vet hur svårt det kan vara att känna sig ensam, särskilt under dessa storhelger som förknippas med glädje och samhörighet. Att då få möjlighet att prata med en medmänniska, kan ha stor betydelse. 10 kronor motsvarar en minut i Minds stödlinjer. Det är en minut som bidrar till att bryta känslan av ensamhet och isolering, säger Rickard Bracken, generalsekreterare på Mind. – På IKEA har vi en gång för alla bestämt oss för att stå på de många människornas sida, säger Emily Birkin, landschef för IKEA Sverige. Att välja kaffe med hopp istället för en vanlig kopp kaffe gör större skillnad än man kan tro – i december får ordet kaffepengar en ny, viktigare mening. Varje samtal räknas.💬 Varje kopp räknas.☕

    Kia ora, Auckland! Today, we officially open the doors to our first IKEA store in New Zealand. This marks the beginning of our journey in this beautiful country, and we couldn’t be more excited to reach more of the many in this corner of the world. New Zealand, or Aotearoa, the Māori name, has a way of making people feel at home with its strong sense of community, unique culture, and genuine care, which resonates so well with our key values.     "Vi kan det samme - bare uden hørelsen." I anledning af den internationale handicapdag har vi taget en snak med Louise og Lasse, der arbejder i vores varehus i Aalborg. De er begge døve, men det er ingen hindring for deres arbejde i logistik – snarere tværtimod. Når Louise går rundt på lageret og lægger returvarer på plads, eller når Lasse suser forbi med palleløfteren, er det ikke til at se, at de mangler hørelsen. Selv når en truck hurtigt nærmer sig, træder de opmærksomt til siden. ”Altså, døve – vi kan jo det samme som hørende, bare uden hørelsen. Ellers er vi ligesom alle andre,” lyder det fra Louise Janner i videoen. Vi håber, at Louise og Lasses historie kan være en inspiration for andre, så vi kan give endnu flere mennesker med funktionsnedsættelser en reel chance. I IKEA er vi bedst, når vi ikke er ens.

    We join DCSA+ to drive digital standards in global container shipping 🚢🌍 We’re proud to share that we have joined Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) as the first cargo owner to accelerate the adoption of shared digital standards in container shipping. Why this matters: Easier data exchange and collaboration Greater transparency and predictability Lower complexity and integration costs We believe collaboration is the way to make global shipping more efficient and predictable. By joining DCSA+, we aim to contribute to better information sharing and traceability of goods in transit.     Putting children’s rights at the heart of responsible business practices. IKEA is committed to integrating children's rights into all business operations, and we are proud to share that our partnership with UNICEF is renewed. We always aim to act in the best interest of children, and by working together through this partnership, we can strengthen our positive force, drive change at scale, and inspire others to take action. Our initial phase was centered on three key areas: family-friendly policies, children’s rights in the digital world, and a just transition. One major outcome was the development of a toolkit by UNICEF to help businesses establish family-friendly workplaces and practices that enable families and children to thrive. In this next phase, we will continue our work on family-friendly policies and children’s rights in a digital world, shift/develop our focus from just transition to climate adaptation, and dive into innovation and play. To advance climate adaptation, the partnership will pilot a country-level accelerator, demonstrating how businesses can strengthen resilience for children and communities—aligning long-term success with child well-being.     The next big step in smart living 💡 We’re taking the next big step in smart living, launching 21 new Matter-compatible smart home products, designed to simplify life, make technology more affordable, and better suit everyday routines. This launch marks the start of a complete rebuild of our smart home system and product range, developed from the ground up after years of testing in real homes and learning how people actually want technology to work in daily life. The result is a range that’s intuitive and easy to expand over time. The new range includes smart lighting, sensors, remote controls, and smart plugs, all built to connect seamlessly with other brands and platforms via the universal Matter standard. That means our products can interact with a wider range of devices, making it easier for customers to build a connected home across different brands.
