Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week: Deadstock to Design Voor Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week gingen King Louie en Studio Meike Nieuwenhuis samen de uitdaging aan: het ontwerpen van een unieke, circulaire outfit. Want mode en circulariteit kunnen perfect samengaan.  In de mode-industrie blijft kleding die niet verkocht wordt vaak achter in de magazijnen – ook wel deadstock genoemd. The Circle Club stelde ons de vraag: hoe geven we deze reststukken een tweede leven? Upcycling Studio Meike Nieuwenhuis brengt textiel dat anders verloren zou gaan, op creatieve wijze tot leven. Met focus op kleur, textuur en patroon transformeert ze afvalmateriaal tot draagbare kledingstukken. Kleine, doordachte veranderingen maken hierin een groot verschil. Precies wat King Louie inspireert in de zoektocht naar duurzamere mode. Het proces De circulaire outfit ontstond vanuit het demonteren van originele items en deze opnieuw samenstellen tot nieuwe textielstukken.
