We’re proud to see waiting_for_cows by affect lab (K.O. Productions), presented at MU during Sensing Otherness (2024), being recognised with a nomination for a Gouden Kalf Digitale Cultuur 2025 at the Nederlands Film Festival (NFF) last week. Set on a Frisian dairy farm, waiting_for_cows explores the complex relationship between people, animals and technology. Three cows, Argentina 4, Margot 104 and Robina 117, wear sensors that collect real-time biometric data, revealing how humans and animals are entangled in systems of productivity and control. They didn’t take the prize home this time, but the nomination alone says a lot about the power and originality of their work. MU Hybrid Art House at Strijp-S is all about art in the broadest sense of the word. Together with mainly young makers and a broad, international audience, MU defines the liminal space between ‘what art is and what art can be’. Thereby, we prioritize the introduction to, elaboration on and hands-on experience of the creation of art. Starting from the near past and present of contemporary visual art, we focus on the unpredictable future of tomorrow and beyond and the role that hybrid artists want ánd can play in it. We combine this with Eindhoven's innovative strength in the field of design and technology, together with an open, inclusive drive to experiment. MU is curious for talent, and challenges talents to be curious. MU is located in a former Philips factory at Strijp S in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

WHAT FORMS OF #INTELLIGENCE EXIST? AND WHAT SIGNIFICANCE DO THEY HAVE FOR OUR UNDERSTANDING OF ECOLOGY AND SOCIETY? DATA BUGS – #AI is a Mirror is about to land at MU Hybrid Art House, Eindhoven, within the international group exhibition Other Intelligences. The exhibition explores intelligence beyond the human: artificial, technological, but also rooted in plants, animals, and other living systems. From the decentralized brain of the octopus to the collective strategies of ants, or the problem-solving skills of slime molds—nature itself questions our definition of intelligence. Together with 11 artists from around the world, Other Intelligences challenges us to rethink what intelligence means today, and how we can empathize with these different ways of knowing. For us at Dotdotdot, it is an invitation to look at intelligence differently—and to imagine new ways of living together. 💡 Gaza Travel Agency is raising funds for their exhibition at Dutch Design Week 2025. The project takes the form of an imaginary travel agency that designs the return of Gazan refugees to their ancestral towns. Inspired by historian Dr. Salman Abu Sitta’s practical plans, it invites visitors to imagine routes, possibilities and emotions of return. The funds raised will directly support the production of Gaza Travel Agency in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week. This includes costs for printing, construction of the exhibition space, materials, transportation, and assembly.
