Why does metadata matter for open access books, and how can presses work effectively (and openly) with it? 🌍💎 The ALMASI Project is the first project to gather Europe, Africa & Latin America to develop a globally aligned, nonprofit, high-quality and sustainable scholarly communications ecosystem. SPARC Europe is thrilled to be one of 15 partners from 10 countries to work on #ALMASI (Aligning and Mutualising Nonprofit OA Publishing Services Internationally), which has received funding from Horizon Europe to work on global #DiamondOA publishing until December 2027. ALMASI ☑️ strives to gain a better understanding of nonprofit #OpenAccess scholarly publishing in Europe, Africa & Latin America, ☑️ co-designs and implements good practices of service provision, ☑️ aims to improve the technical and scientific quality of publishing solutions ☑️ & stimulates the development of institutional and national policies that also financially support nonprofit OA publishing.
