3 years at Personio. 36 months leading Benelux. 3 lessons that shaped our growth. When I started, I wasn’t just looking for a role. I was looking for the right leader, the right culture, and the right people to build with. Because in GTM, those choices shape everything that follows. Looking back, our journey in Benelux was built on three foundations and each one is something any GTM leader can apply: 1. People, talent, and development Growth is never just about hitting targets. It’s about enabling people to level up. In our team, I’ve seen SDRs grow into AEs, CS, event managers. I’ve seen reps progress from AE1 to AE5, earn promotions, and hit President’s Club. Takeaway: make talent development a priority, not a side effect. Promotions and progression build more momentum than any campaign. 2. Partners, community, and ecosystem Launching in a new region isn’t about pouring money into ads. It’s about building trust. Partners and customers became our strongest amplifiers. Events and community moments, both online and offline, created credibility faster than any brand campaign. Takeaway: if you’re entering a market with low brand recognition, focus on partners and community first. They carry you further than spend alone. 3. Cross-functional collaboration Early on, our biggest hurdle wasn’t demand, it was alignment. Once we broke down silos and started working as one team: sales, CS, marketing, growth accelerated. Today, collaboration is our biggest competitive advantage. Takeaway: your GTM engine is only as strong as your weakest link. Fix alignment before chasing more leads. 🔥 Train your courage 🔥 This morning we welcomed a room full of bold minds for a powerful workshop with leadership expert Esther Mollema, in proud partnership with the DACT - Dutch Association of Corporate Treasurers.   This inspiring session focused on how courage transforms careers, teams, and organizations. Led by keynote speaker Esther Mollema, we explored practical ways to speak up, challenge bias, and lead with authenticity. Key Takeaways: ⚡Courage is a career superpower: Speaking up, challenging group think, and daring to share unfinished ideas can spark innovation and drive progress. ⚡Psychological safety matters: Teams thrive when everyone feels safe to contribute, ask questions, and challenge the status quo. ⚡Status drives power: Women often have the skills but lack status, which impacts advancement. Building visibility and shaping perceptions is crucial. ⚡Bias is real but can be overcome: Assertive women are often judged more harshly but combining warmth and strength. Yesterday I spoke in front of 700 people in Amsterdam at World Employer Branding Day with one clear message: Your leaders are the future of your employer brand! And the data backs this up: → 75% of job seekers research leaders before applying → 70% of an employee’s engagement is determined by their leader → 64% of consumers say they’re more likely to buy from a brand whose leaders they follow on social media My talk yesterday focused on the two ways you get your leaders to show up authentically online. 1. Understand who they are and then give them guardrails I have hours of conversations with leaders to understand who they actually are and what they could talk about. Once that process is complete I give them a clear outline of how to show up online. 2. Understand how to create content people care about It’s so easy to get leaders to make content that nobody will care about. Asking them basic questions or using ChatGPT will result in bland content. Your job is to find the interesting in your leaders and make sure it’s fit for the social media platform you’re playing on. You can have the most interesting insights in the world but if you can’t package them up right then they end up not reaching people. If you are able to give your leaders guardrails and create content people will actually care about, your leaders can become your greatest asset.

When OpenAI launched its Agent Builder, it reminded me of something familiar. Because we’ve been building and deploying that vision for years.
