We are set to add a third production line to our plant in Little Rock, Arkansas! “This is a significant achievement. Just four months after we officially opened in Little Rock, we are already in the process of adding two new production lines. This is a testament to the quality of our low-carbon, sustainable Pure-Pak® cartons, which are resonating with brands and consumer alike. I’d like to thank all our colleagues at Little Rock and our Americas team for their hard work, dedication, and incredible levels of effort, which are clearly paying off," said our CEO Thomas Körmendi. The new line will cost USD 30 million to bring online and will produce a mix of smaller Pure-Pak® cartons, including school milk cartons, to better serve the needs of our customers and grow with them.

Six million plastic caps gone. Customer convenience intact. Coop Danmark’s own-brand yoghurt and Ymer, a traditional Danish sour milk product, are now packaged in cartons without screw caps, eliminating around six million plastic lids annually. That’s a saving of 17 tons of plastic and 48 tons of CO₂ emissions every year. 🛑 The challenge? EU regulations require plastic lids on drink bottles and cartons to be tethered, to prevent them from ending up in nature. But many customers find tethered caps cumbersome and frustrating. ✅ The solution? Coop has switched to Pure-Pak® cartons with Natural Brown Board featuring an easy-opening design that removes the need for a cap altogether — offering a smooth, intuitive experience that’s both sustainable and user-friendly. Thomas Roland, Head of Product Responsibility and Quality at Coop Denmark, explains: “We know that many customers find the tethered caps cumbersome. At the same time, we want to save plastic, so now we are again removing lids on many cartons, thereby reducing large amounts of plastic and CO₂." Coop Denmark is showing how smart design choices can solve regulatory challenges, meet consumer needs, and drive real environmental impact — all at once.

Food waste generates 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions—nearly 5 times more than aviation. Our CEO Thomas Körmendi explores a critical paradox in his latest ESG Dive article: packaging is often criticized for environmental impact, yet it's essential for preventing food waste and fighting climate change. The challenge? Delivering packaging solutions that preserve freshness WITHOUT perpetuating plastic pollution. At Elopak we're helping brands transition from plastic bottles to fiber-based cartons that cut emissions by up to 73% while maintaining shelf-life. Advanced technology now keeps fresh milk stable for up to 60 days. As Thomas writes: "Packaging sits at the epicenter of food waste and plastic waste—presenting both a challenge and part of the solution."
