💡𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 & 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 – 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 ⚡Today marks the launch of our very first hybrid power complex combining solar and wind resources!   ☀️💨 Together with our Brazilian subsidiary Rio Energy we’ve now started commercial power production at the Serra da Babilônia Solar facility in Bahia, Brazil. Strategically co-located with the existing Serra da Babilônia Wind, this represents the first hybrid asset in our power portfolio – and comprises 140 MW of solar and 223 MW of wind capacity   ✅ Hybrid projects take advantage of the complementary nature of solar and wind resources, which generate power at different times of the day and throughout different seasons. This ensures more consistent renewable energy production and improves grid reliability 🔋 Projects like these and the integration of technologies are vital for Equinor’s competitive power business 🇧🇷 Brazil is a key area for Equinor’s long-term growth. Building on a solid portfolio of oil and natural gas – including the Raia project, which will supply 15% of Brazil’s total gas demand – we’re advancing towards a more integrated and diverse energy offering in the country. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 Our two new gas and condensate discoveries in the Sleipner area of the North Sea together with Aker BP ASA are Equinor’s largest so far this year, and can be developed for the European market through existing infrastructure 🔍 Located between the Gudrun and Eirin fields, the Lofn and Langemann wells may hold 30-110 million barrels of oil equivalent.   🇳🇴 These results highlight the value of ongoing exploration on the Norwegian shelf, supporting stable energy supplies to Europe. 🔗 Discoveries near existing fields can be developed quickly through subsea facilities, with limited environmental impact, low CO2 emissions from production, and strong profitability. 🇪🇺 The Sleipner area is an important hub for Norwegian gas exports to Europe, and these discoveries strengthen our optimism for further exploration in the area. We are committed to drilling five additional exploration wells in the area going forward. Click on the link in the comments to find out more ⬇️

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲 – 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 28 years after start-up, a new subsea field has been tied back to the Norne field in the Norwegian sea, which enables the field to produce beyond 2030.  The new subsea tieback Verdande helps to secure value creation – and the 930 person-years associated with the operation of the Norne field – for years to come. It is the sixth subsea field to produce via Norne.    This is how we continue to develop the Norwegian continental shelf – by adding new developments to existing fields.  The main suppliers have been TechnipFMC, Subsea7, DeepOcean, Transocean Halliburton and Aibel.  Thanks all for helping us bring Verdande on stream!

Today, Shell and Equinor create what will become the largest independent oil and gas producer in the UK North Sea – Adura. By combining two strong portfolios and decades of experience, Adura has been set up to sustain oil and gas production in a mature basin, reinforcing the UK North Sea’s role in meeting the country’s energy needs, and generating long-term value. With around 1,200 people, expected to produce over 140,000 barrels per day in 2026, the new company starts out with a strong portfolio and deep industry experience. This is also a day of mixed emotions – employees that have lived the Equinor values and helped realise fantastic milestones like bringing Mariner on stream, taking final investment decision on Rosebank and acquiring Suncor, will now change the logo on their helmet and access card. This new beginning constitutes an opportunity to take the best from Equinor and combine it with the best of Shell, to create a significant new player on the UK Continental Shelf! Adura also represents a new business model for Equinor – creating a jointly owned, large-scale upstream company that will operate independently, while continuing to deliver strong dividends to shareholders. I look forward to following everyone at Adura closely, cheering you on as a proud owner!

  • For this year’s Autumn Conference in Oslo, we invited our speakers to set off a thorough conversation on trust and cooperation at a time of unpredictability, conflict and geopolitical tension. Energy both affects and is affected by changes in the geopolitical and global trade situation. Our societies need reliable and affordable energy, but also a route to lower emissions. The keynote speakers were Norwegian energy minister Terje Aasland, International Energy Agency (IEA) executive director Fatih Birol and Equinor CEO Anders Opedal. View their sessions, panels on topics such as financial stability towards 2030, financing the green transition, and infrastructure security – or watch the conference in its entirety – at the Equinor.com event page ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dwatF6w3

Today, I was on stage for the annual Equinor Autumn Conference. We invite stakeholders of our industry to meet and discuss the future of our business, to exchange views and to get updated on what has changed since last time. In my keynote speech, I shared a summary of some of the things I have been thinking about quite a lot lately: - How the energy transition has gone from firing on all cylinders, to some now putting the brakes on the transition, even in some of the world’s largest economies. - How the challenges for implementation of renewables and low carbon solutions are more commercial in nature than technical. - How important it is that we are able to engineer a transition that also supports Europe’s competitiveness on the global markets. The answer to these challenges? A balanced and realistic energy transition, taking the energy trilemma into account. How can we contribute? We can continue to deliver Norwegian oil and gas to Europe, to promote energy security and energy affordability. We also need to continue investing in the energy transition when and where it gives the best combined impact on profitability and emissions, to promote energy sustainability. We are doing our part! We aim to invest 60 billion NOK in Norwegian oil and gas every year for the next ten years to maintain production at 2020 level. We are building 6 GW of offshore wind around the world – and maturing CCS projects like Northern Lights, which is now storing CO2 in Norway. These all signify important contributions to Europe’s energy transition. To succeed with these long-term industrial projects, we need predictable framework conditions for our industry. In the attached clip, you can hear one of our employees at Hammerfest LNG, Thomas Henriksen Størdal, talking about stable framework conditions to the audience at the conference.

💡𝐀 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞  When our CEO Anders Opedal lit the gas lamps in Prague, it wasn’t just a symbolic gesture. 🇨🇿 It marked the beginning of a new partnership that will help keep homes and businesses in Czechia warm and powered for years to come. Deliveries from the 10-year agreement with the Capital City of Prague’s gas and electricity company Pražská plynárenská, a. s. have already started, and will last until 2035. 🇳🇴 Our supplies of pipeline gas to Europe are backed by the resources on the Norwegian continental shelf, Europe’s most important energy province. ⚡The gas will be used for heating homes, cooking, and generating electricity – things people rely on every single day. ✅ Czechia is working to move away from coal and needs stable energy sources during its transition. Gas is a key part of that plan. This agreement helps secure energy for Prague and beyond, making the country more resilient in a changing European energy market. 🇪🇺 The agreement joins a string of long-term gas contracts we’ve signed across Europe in recent years, demonstrating the role gas plays for European energy security. While our main gas markets have been in northwest Europe and the UK, we’ve expanded our reach to include supplies to the Baltics and Poland – and we see that more countries in central and southern Europe are looking for reliable, long-term energy partners.
