👋 Meet Trond, who works with new subsea technology. With a father who was a pioneer diver, it’s perhaps no surprise that Trond found his place in the depths of the ocean. At Equinor, he is now part of the development of a new generation of underwater drones. 🦾 These autonomous robots live on the seabed and reduce the need for support vessels — cutting large amounts of emissions. 🔋 This new technology is paving the way for more efficient energy production. Get to know Trond and others at Equinor, who go to work every day to drive the energy transition forward, at the link in the comments👇

  • The OGCI (Oil and Gas Climate Initiative) comprises 12 major energy companies dedicated to advancing the industry's response to climate change, and recently released its 2025 Progress Report. 📉 The report highlights Equinor’s leadership in reducing methane emissions, our role in the Northern Lights JV—the world's first open and flexible cross-border infrastructure for transporting and storing captured CO2—and our electrification initiatives on the Norwegian continental shelf. 🤝🏻 These examples demonstrate how we are actively contributing to industry-wide climate action. The OGCI (Oil and Gas Climate Initiative) 2025 Progress Report is out now – showing how ambition backed by action is delivering real results across the oil and gas sector.    This year’s independently reviewed and verified data highlights continued progress by our 12 member companies. Since 2017, they have:  ➡️ Cut upstream methane intensity by 62%  ➡️ Reduced routine flaring by 72%  ➡️ Lowered upstream carbon intensity by 24% Beyond the data, the 2025 Progress Report is packed with case studies, insights and practical examples of how OGCI members are scaling new technologies, forming global partnerships and driving innovation across the energy system. • 🚢 Bacalhau is on stream! 🔗 Together with our partners ExxonMobil Brasil, Galp (through Petrogal Brasil, JV Galp|Sinopec) and PPSA (Pré-Sal Petróleo S/A) we’re celebrating the start of operations of Bacalhau. Located at Brazil’s Santos Basin, the field is set to produce safely, efficiently and with production emissions half the industry average. 🇧🇷 Bacalhau is our largest international asset, and will contribute to positive ripple effects across the supply chain. Up to 50,000 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created in Brazil throughout its lifetime. • 👋 Meet Bjørn Otto, who is working to ensure the world’s oil and gas companies emit less. 🛢️ Production emissions from the oil and gas industry account for almost 10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. 🌍 The potential for emission reductions is significant, and can play a vital role in the global energy transition. 📉 Since 2017, the companies in OGCI have reduced their own production emissions by more than 120 million tonnes of CO₂. Today is World Mental Health Day. At Equinor we’re marking the day by highlighting the "ABC for Mental Health": - Act: Stay active in a variety of ways - Belong: Connect with those around you - Commit: Spend time on things that matter to you   The workplace has a significant impact on our wellbeing. Looking back to the start of my career, I remember how my curiosity led me from office to office, asking colleagues about their work and seeking their wisdom. The warm welcome I received - colleagues patiently answering my (sometimes stupid?) questions and generously sharing their experience - made me feel truly included, that I belonged.   We continue to welcome new colleagues regularly, and I hope we can all extend the same kindness and openness that was shown to me. By doing so, we not only strengthen our collective competence, but also foster a culture of belonging, laying the groundwork for positive mental health.

💡 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱 🔗 We’ve now started phase 2 of Åsgard subsea compression in the Norwegian Sea together with the partners in the Åsgard and Mikkel licences. 🔧 The project helps maintain field production by increasing the pipeline pressure between the wells and the Åsgard B platform. ⬆️ Combined for both phases, the recovery rate from the Mikkel and Midgard fields will increase to 90% due to the compressor plant. 📈 This amounts to an additional 306 million barrels of oil equivalent from the fields. 🎉 The first phase of Åsgard subsea compression came on stream in 2015, and was the world's first facility for gas compression on the seabed and the result of extensive technological development. ⏳ The compressor system has produced stably for ten years with almost 100% uptime, and has so far contributed around NOK 175 billion in increased value creation. 🤝 Now, in cooperation with partners and suppliers, we’ve further developed and qualified the next generation of compressor modules. I’m happy to share that Equinor and Microsoft have signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement to help accelerate the development of CO2 transport and storage value chains and the Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) credits market in North-Western Europe and the United States! Our companies share strong ambitions within these areas. Equinor as a major player in CO2 transport and storage, and Microsoft as the world’s leading procurer of CDR credits that can also provide the end-to-end digital backbone to track molecules from capture sites to permanent storage. We are looking forward to collaborating with Microsoft. By procuring credits from pioneering CDR developers, Microsoft helped secure commitments that supported the launch of Northern Lights JV, the world’s first, third-party CO2 transport and storage project, now in operation at Øygarden, Norway. Through this new agreement, we intend to build on that experience, work together to develop CO2 value chains and make carbon removals available to a broader set of market participants. Collaboration across the value chain is essential to enable carbon removal at scale and we look forward to continuing this journey with Microsoft!
