In the leadup to CONNECT 2025 - EIT Alumni's signature annual event on 17 October, in Brussels - EIT Community organizes various side events to bring together alumni from all EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology's Knowledge & Innovation Communities! As a part of this, Marianne Lemberger and Ellen Gale will be leading the EIT Community New European Bauhaus interactive workshop next week Thursday. This game-like activity has been developed over the past few years alongside Rebecca van Eijk, and it's such a joy to use it at events like this! Expect an interactive, playful format with plenty of space to imagine and co-create more sustainable, inclusive and beautiful public spaces. Across Europe, the Connect NEB programme is helping local initiatives bring the values of sustainability, inclusion, and beauty to life - one neighbourhood, one project at a time. Here’s the latest from five inspiring projects: Creating Living Together (Crearqció) 📍 Valencia, Spain Interest in cooperative housing is booming! From 25 to over 100 engaged citizens, Valencia’s pilot is training new groups to rethink urban living models and is now moving toward partnerships with the city council 🏘️🤝 WaterWise 📍 Bologna, Italy In Bologna’s peri-urban landscape, WaterWise is co-designing a constructed wetland for water reuse. Citizens and experts are working side-by-side, though navigating permits and partner coordination remain key hurdles 💧 Petroupoli Climate Shelter (Organization Earth - Οργάνωση ΓΗ) 📍 Attica, Greece Starting from an urban garden, Petroupoli is creating Greece’s first urban climate shelter. A strong turnout at their first co-design workshop shows how community-driven solutions can power resilience and inclusivity 🌞🌾 HUGS - Hulme Urban Green Spaces (Manchester City Council) 📍 Hulme, UK SusCoHulme is launching 10 workshops across two Hulme neighbourhoods to explore how to replace on-street parking with vibrant green spaces.
