    "We are striving for a #sustainable ecosystem." When we say this as a #Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) startup, people often give us a confused look. What do we mean by a sustainable ecosystem? By establishing SnackOn, a health food #manufacturing company based in Nepal, our goal is simple yet ambitious: we want Nepal to sustain the company across every aspect of its value chain. The first area we are focusing on is raw materials. Nepal relies heavily on #imports. Our domestic production and manufacturing capabilities are limited, and this dependence brings many challenges, from cost and quality to supply chain vulnerabilities. So, when we won a modest cash prize at the National Agri-Innovation Challenge 2024, organized by FAO Nepal and UNDP Nepal in collaboration with Youth Innovation Lab, we saw an opportunity to make a change. A small win, yes, but one that could lead to meaningful impact. With that prize, we sourced high-quality peanut seeds all the way from Junagadh, India, a connection made possible through Youth Co:Lab, and are planting them on one hectare of land in Bishrampur, Rautahat. This was made possible through a technical partnership with Freshktm and the incredible support of its CEO, Sandip Adhikari, whose commitment to low-residue and safe food aligns perfectly with our mission. This marks the beginning of our journey, where we will now feed locally sourced, high-quality raw materials into our production process. And this is just the start.
