🌍 4th United Nations Open Science and Open Scholarship Conference – Day 2 On the second day of the Conference in Tokyo, participants explored the theme “Removing Barriers to Knowledge: Open Infrastructure and the Future of Scientific Access.” The discussions focused on how open infrastructure, equitable access to data, and inclusive digital ecosystems can accelerate scientific collaboration and innovation worldwide. 🎙️ Yensi Flores Bueso, Co-Chair of the Global Young Academy, one of the UN Scientific Advisory Board’s network institutions, joined the opening panel “Policy Pathways for Open Science as a Global Public Good,” alongside leaders from Stephen Wyber of International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and Professor Dr. Phoebe Koundouri of the World Council of Environmental and Resource Economists Associations. Her intervention underscored the UN Scientific Advisory Board’s efforts to advance Open Science as a cornerstone of inclusive and sustainable knowledge systems. 👉 Drawing on the Board’s recent Statement on Open Science, she called for translating global initiatives into actionable national policies and equitable infrastructures.
