USE IPM in Málaga: Conference & Workshops for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems The USE IPM project team had an excellent opportunity to participate in two key events in Málaga, Spain, during September and October 2025. 1️⃣ IFEAPWORLD International Conference (October 2–3) – Nine research papers were presented in a special session on innovation, entrepreneurship, circular economy, and university-industry collaboration. 2️⃣ USE IPM Project Workshops – Eight specialized workshops organized with the University of Málaga, focusing on the entrepreneurial university model, university ambidexterity, mentoring support, accelerators, university-business collaboration, and the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship. Participants from Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania had the opportunity to exchange knowledge, apply innovative approaches, and strengthen their capacities to enhance sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems in the Western Balkans. Following the 6th secondment in Samobor, Croatia, partners from the University of Skopje (USK) and the University of Tirana (UT) organised dissemination events to share knowledge and experiences gained through the USE IPM project. At the Faculty of Economics in Skopje, presentations highlighted the transformation of “Little Technopolis Samobor” into a vibrant entrepreneurial hub and explored models for building resilient innovation ecosystems. In Tirana, sessions focused on developing institutional frameworks for entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainable financial models, and effective partnerships for long-term impact. On September 15, 2025 the USE IPM team at the Faculty of Economics (FEUN) held a series of presentations dedicated to the development of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EI Centre). The event featured four key presentations that outline the Centre’s vision, structure, and impact framework: 🔹 Monitoring and Evaluation Framework – establishing clear KPIs and transparent reporting mechanisms for academic, social, and innovation value. 🔹 Public-Private Partnership: A Contemporary Review – exploring how PPP models can drive collaboration between institutions and businesses. 🔹 Promotion and Visibility of the EI Centre – unveiling the Centre’s new visual identity and communication strategy for greater outreach and engagement. 🔹 Draft Statute of the EI Centre – defining the organizational structure, governance, and services that will support students, entrepreneurs, and partners. On September 11, we held a successful round table in Banja Luka within the USE IPM project. The event brought together 23 participants from academia, government, and the business sector to discuss the Draft Research & Innovation (R&I) Strategy for the Development of the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussion was dynamic and highly constructive, generating valuable suggestions and insights that will be integrated into the final Action Plan. Next steps include: 1. Incorporating feedback into the R&I Strategy and Action Plan by the end of 2025. 2. Hosting a regional round table on December 5, with universities from Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina presenting their strategies. 3. Formal adoption of the R&I Strategy by the Scientific and Teaching Council of the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka. We believe that this collaborative approach — bringing together research, innovation, and entrepreneurship — is a vital step toward strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region. 18 researchers from Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia had the opportunity to expand their professional knowledge and experience through a wide range of activities. On July 9–10, our research team participated in the TVET Alliance Summit 2025 in Ancona, Italy. We presented eight papers covering sustainable entrepreneurship, academia–business collaboration, empathy-based and digital entrepreneurship, SME internationalization, and the future of skills. Beyond sharing research, we engaged in dynamic workshops and discussions on creativity, leadership, teamwork, and digital tools in education — strengthening our international network and opening new opportunities for cooperation.
