ICIEC Supports Istanbul’s Climate-Resilient Infrastructure As Istanbul’s population continues to rise, so does the urgency for reliable, climate-smart water infrastructure. ICIEC stepped in with EUR 166 million insurance support for two vital projects, #Cumhuriyet Drinking Water Treatment Plant (Stage 2) and #Paşaköy Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant (Stage 3). Enabling Trade, Investment, and Human Capital Development In 2024, ICIEC expanded its support for #Shariah-compliant financial solutions across Member States. Business insurance under the BMP product increased by 192%, and joint initiatives with ITFC syndications rose by 78%. Sector-level growth included increased activity in financial intermediation and trade facilitation. Support for human capital development, focused on sectors contributing to #employment and essential #services. ICIEC insured USD 2,313 million in energy, USD 444 million in #healthcare, and USD 93 million in services. Continuing ICIEC’s Active Engagement in Global Development Finance Dialogues 🌍🤝   As part of ICIEC’s continued participation in the Development & Agency Finance Day, organized by Standard Chartered in London, Fatma Gamze Sarioğlu, Senior Country Manager – Türkiye, represented ICIEC in a panel discussion focused on innovative financing approaches.   She presented “Uzmetkombinat / ICIEC – Steel Plant Financing: ICIEC as an Alternative to ECA,” highlighting ICIEC’s role in supporting the landmark €132.5 million financing for Uzmetkombinat, Uzbekistan’s largest steel producer. Driving Development Through Strategic Collaboration ⚡🌍   During ICIEC’s mission in London, Bassem Soua, Division Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa & Europe at ICIEC, participated in a panel session at the Development & Agency Finance Day, organized by Standard Chartered.
