In this paper, a pulse-to-pulse diverse RF convergent waveform design technique is

In this paper, a pulse-to-pulse diverse RF convergent waveform design technique is presented that constructs a radar waveform that can service both sensing operation and has the dual ability to represent communications symbols to an intended receiver. The design encodes communications data into the transmit radar waveform at the pulse level by fusing time-frequency (TF) signatures together and modulating the TF location at which this fusion occurs resulting in a nonlinear-frequency modulated (NLFM) waveform that is designed to provide simultaneous radar and communications performance. We provide theoretical analysis and simulation results for both radar and communications signal processing.
