We're headed to COP30 with a clear message: it’s time for climate ambition to meet real-world systems. The joint op-ed with Business Sweden in Dagens Industri (co-signed by leading voices from Sweden’s COP30 delegation, including our own Dr. Lina K Wiles, PhD, Chief Sustainability Officer at Adapteo Group) makes it clear that bold commitments alone won’t move the needle. We need powerful policy tools and cross-sector partnerships that turn innovation into scalable impact. That call resonates deeply with us at Adapteo. Because in our world, where schools, care facilities and workplaces must adapt overnight, we’ve learned that systems matter as much as solutions. As the Swedish delegation brings this thinking to COP30, we’ll be following closely and contributing what we know best: how to make social infrastructure as flexible as the societies it serves. Read the op-ed (in Swedish) here: https://lnkd.in/d-Q_9Zz2 Meet the rest of the likeminded and incredibly talented delegation: AFRY, Alfa Laval, BCC Plant the Planet, ClimateView, Doconomy, Flower, Hitachi Energy, IKEA, Ingrid Capacity, Minesto, Normative.io, Ragn-Sells, Scania Group, Sekab, Sida, Siemens Energy, SKF Group, Spowdi, SSAB, Tetra Pak, and TrusTrace. #COP30 #ClimateAction #CircularEconomy #HelpingSocietyThrive #GreenInfrastructure
Om oss
With 40+ years in modular and circular building solutions, we know what it takes to create spaces where people can thrive. Our flexible, low-carbon modules help schools, daycares, hospitals, universities, companies and communities grow without waiting for permanent construction. They’re designed so children feel safe, students can learn, businesses can expand, wherever and whenever society needs extra room. Because things are always changing, we make Space-as-a-Service: buildings that can be installed quickly, adapted on demand, and reused again and again. A module that starts life as a school can later serve as an office, student housing, or a healthcare unit. This multi-life circularity cuts waste, lowers greenhouse-gas emissions, and keeps valuable materials in play. Our portfolio of 1.6 million square meters is the total floor area of our rental fleet of modular buildings that can be deployed across projects. From our Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-approved climate goals to our new Circularity Index, we aim to set new standards by building low-carbon, climate-smart spaces. Adapteo has branches in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

Adopting a circular approach to material supply chains is essential for building a more sustainable future for the built environment. From exploring how to scale circular construction and material recovery with Holcim - to Adapteo Group’s groundbreaking new Circularity Index, we’re proud to work with global partners who share our commitment to circular innovation. Together, we can create a future where resources stay in use for longer, waste is minimised, and every stage of the supply chain contributes to a more resilient construction industry. Learn more about the case for building circular in our latest report, developed with the support of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation: https://lnkd.in/ezKKppMt #WeAreArup #LondonClimateActionWeek #CircularEconomy #ClimateAction #BuiltEnvironment

What if growth wasn’t the problem, but the way we build it? At Climate Week in New York, targets were everywhere. But the real tension was this: can companies scale solutions fast enough for those targets to matter? That’s why our CSO, Lina K Wiles, PhD, joined Exponential Roadmap Initiative session with leaders from Oatly, Stegra, Beyond Meat, KOKO Networks and Summa Equity for the ANSWERS ONLY session. They spoke about how business models can flip entire systems shifting value chains, investment strategies, and even the narratives that shape our economies. 👉Our answer is circularity. Again and again. Through and through. Let's take Adapteo, for instance. Reused buildings are infrastructure that can move, grow, and shrink with society’s needs, enabling the transition. And here's the kicker, the model is bankable. Companies like ours show that the tools for a net zero economy already exist. The real test is whether we’re ready to enable the enablers and do it at scale. #SolutionsHouse2025 #HelpingSocitiesThrive

In New York during the UN General Assembly and #ClimateWeek, and the rhetoric is thick (commitments, pledges, targets) but too often the conversation avoids the harder fact: solutions are not missing, they’re *underused*. At Adapteo, this hits hard as resilience is not an abstract quality for us. We build it. We build schools that can expand overnight when populations shift. We build care homes that adapt as communities age. We build offices and housing that can move, shrink, grow, and renew to support the projects driving the green transition. And we don’t just build, we measure. With our Circularity Index, created with Arup, we’ve defined what circularity means in our sector, how it’s measured, and how it can be scaled. What comes next is not another pledge but practical action. Procurement must evolve to reward resilience, so communities invest in solutions that last rather than settle for short-term fixes. Clear standards must anchor progress, with tools like our Circularity Index offering a baseline that brings credibility and comparability to the sector. And capital must move with urgency, directing finance toward models already proven to work at scale, rather than waiting for untested promises. Together, these steps shift resilience from concept to reality. To advance this, Johanna Persson, Lina K Wiles, PhD, Anna Högberg, and Zoey Tsopela brought Adapteo’s voice into a few critical forums. At the EU National Transition Plan roundtable with the United Nations Global Compact, we stressed that the transition will only succeed if systemic frameworks enable solutions providers to scale. At the Business Sweden roundtable on multilevel governance, we underlined that circularity is a competitiveness strategy for resilient cities and industries. And at Doconomy’s Stage of Impact, we made it clear that adaptability is the condition for societies to thrive amid shocks. But more on this later. TL:DR: Enable us to scale the circular solutions that are already solving the transition. We don’t need more pledges or promises. The solutions exist. The private sector is proving them, funding them, and delivering them. What we need now is the will to scale.

As countries get ready to submit their updated climate plans ahead of COP30, the new Climate Matchmaker for Global Action report shows something encouraging: we already have many of the solutions we need. The next step is making sure the right conditions are in place so that these solutions can be scaled and invested in. For Adapteo, this message resonates strongly. Our modular and adaptable buildings are proven tools to support resilience for schools, hospitals, workplaces, and communities. What often makes the difference is not the technology itself, but whether regulation, financing, and partnerships are aligned to unlock it. Looking ahead to COP30, there’s a real opportunity to turn climate ambition into everyday progress. We’re ready to keep showing how flexible infrastructure can be part of that progress, helping society thrive in a changing world. https://lnkd.in/dnnx3VJE #HelpingSocietyThrive Johanna Persson, Lina K Wiles, PhD, Anna Högberg Business Sweden

Not even 7% circular. That’s the world. Imagine running a business on 7% efficiency. You wouldn’t. That’s why, with Arup, we built the #AdapteoCircularityIndex. This circularity performance tool shows how modular buildings keep resources in play longer, and guides growth that makes sense in a resource-limited world. Our 2024 results gave us a strong starting point (68% circular deployment), identifying routes to increased circularity and proving circular growth wins every day of the week. A nod to Framtidens samhällsbyggnad på RISE and Marcus Linder for the sharp review and fresh ideas. Something exciting is brewing. #HelpingSocietyThrive https://lnkd.in/dJs-CF7Z

Big news. Bigger responsibility. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved our near-term and net-zero climate targets. That means independent experts have confirmed our pathway is aligned with the 1.5°C goal set by the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change and that we will reach net-zero across our value chain by 2040. ⭐️In other words: the science says we’re serious⭐️ We’re serious about building a future where society can thrive with adaptable, circular spaces that cut emissions while meeting the needs of schools, workplaces, communities, and care. What now? Year after year, we’re gonna prove that modular isn’t just better for the climate, it’s the future of building👇 https://lnkd.in/dymUqC-z #HelpingSocietyThrive #ScienceBasedTargets #SBTi #SpaceasaService

Just a week to go before I attend my first #ClimateWeekNYC to moderate panels on Doconomy's Stage of Impact at the Chrysler Building. It is my first Climate Week in the Big Apple, but I am jumping in head first, moderating a series of panels on behalf of The Banker that drive home the importance of #resiliency in every sense of the word - consumer, public, private, mobility and social infrastructure - to help drive better and more sustainable outcomes. Prepared to be challenged on how you think about topics such as financial inclusion, resiliency, and making sustainable finance pay for the communities most at risk from a warming world. Looking forward to connecting and discussing these topics with an impressive array of experts, including Helena Leurent, Sophie Sirtaine, Payal Dalal, Mira Ness, Yma Gordon, Emma Heikensten, Phd, Johanna Persson, Annachiara Torciano, Ilana Judah, Andreas Follér. Thanks to Mathias Wikström at Doconomy and Adapteo Group for the opportunity.
