🇸🇪🇪🇺 Smart Energy for a Stronger and More Competitive Europe Ingrid's Ebba Reinfeldt and Martin Ivarsson attended Moderaterna’s Party Congress this past weekend. The event featured engaging discussions and inspiring perspectives on the energy transition. It was great to see such strong interest in the field. A warm thank you to Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Andreas Norlén, Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson, Minister for Civil Defence Carl-Oskar Bohlin, Minister of Defence Pål Jonson, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa, Spokesperson on Business and Energy Jesper Skalberg Karlsson, Members of the European Parliament Jörgen Warborn and Tomas Tobé, Deputy Mayor of Gothenburg Axel Josefson, and many more for great discussions. Ahead of the 2026 election, M presented new policy directions for Sweden’s next parliamentary term - with energy on the agenda. Some reflections: ⚡ One of the biggest bottlenecks in the energy transition is the electricity grid. While extending it is important, it’s equally important to upgrade and optimize existing infrastructure. According to Energiforsk, Sweden will need an estimated SEK 1,000 billion in grid investments by 2045 - but by efficiently using the grid, at least an estimated SEK 250 billion could be saved. ⚡ Energy storage is already playing a key role in the market - both in Sweden and globally. With nearly 1 GW of installed capacity in Sweden alone, batteries are helping to balance the grid and integrate more renewables. With lead times of just 1–3 years, storage provides a fast and cost-effective way to strengthen the energy system. ⚡ Rethinking the energy system is key to a competitive and sustainable future. A holistic approach that embraces decentralization and digitalization, with diverse solutions working together - drives innovation and resilience. Let’s continue the dialogue, sharing knowledge and ideas to accelerate the shift towards a more resilient and sustainable energy future. 🤝 Also, special thanks to Green Power Sweden and Eolus for great days and the opportunity to join you at the event!

  • Europe’s energy future will be built on the strength of its grids. They are already the most advanced and interconnected in the world — now they must also become the most flexible. Earlier this week, we joined the Cleantech Friendship Group breakfast in Strasbourg, where Commissioner Dan Jørgensen highlighted the Commission’s growing focus on Europe’s grids as a cornerstone of the energy transition. The session — moderated by Thomas Pellerin-Carlin and Lídia Pereira, and made possible by the incredible Cleantech for Europe team — Alex Braley, Luís Rebelo, and colleagues — brought together leaders across policy, industry, and innovation to discuss how Europe can move faster on grid modernisation. Europe’s grid isn’t just a bottleneck; it’s one of our greatest strategic assets. Interconnectors, digitalisation, and smarter use of existing infrastructure are key to unlocking its full potential — and with it, true energy independence. In the discussion, Alberto Méndez RebolloLayla Sawyer, and our co-founder John Hunter explored how grid tech can unlock hidden capacity in today’s system — helping 2 570 European DSOs integrate new technologies and local flexibility. Great insights also from Julia Reinaud and Sofie Eriksson, reflecting how policy, innovation, and investment now align to turn Europe’s grid ambition into action. The next decade will be defined not by how much new grid we build, but by how intelligently we use the one we already have. ⚡️🇪🇺

🌍 As world leaders prepare to meet at #COP30, one thing is clear: the energy transition will not happen without an intelligent grid. Yesterday, our CEO Axel Holmberg, together with Sweden’s non-negotiating business delegation to COP30, published an op-ed in Dagens Industri calling for stronger global policy frameworks to accelerate the green transition. Sweden’s business community sends a clear signal: the barrier to progress isn’t technology, research, or capital — it’s political will and effective policy. The solutions are here. What’s missing is the courage and coordination to scale them. Nowhere is this more evident than in the power system ⚡ The grid should enable the transition, yet, it’s holding it back. By making it more flexible and intelligent, we can unleash renewables, electrify industry and transport, and secure affordable power for all. That’s why we’re heading to COP30 — to show that climate solutions exist and push for political frameworks and incentives to scale them. The time is now. The race is on. Let's do this Business Sweden and Mattias Frumerie! 🔗 Link to op-ed in the comments --- The rest of the official non-negotiating delegation to COP30 include Adapteo Group AFRY Alfa LavalBCC Plant the Planet ClimateView Doconomy EKN Exportkreditnämnden E.ON EQT Group Flower Hitachi Energy Inter IKEA Group Minesto Normative.io Ragn-Sells Scania Group Sekab Sida Siemens Energy SKF Group Spowdi SSAB Svenskt Näringsliv Swedish Energy Agency Tetra Pak TrusTrace ---

  • At Ingrid Capacity, we’ve known from day one that achieving a bold vision requires more than just ambition—it takes talented, driven people with curios minds who are motivated to reach ambitious goals. But attracting and retaining great colleagues is only part of the equation. To truly succeed, we’re committed to building a workplace where everyone is challenged, supported, and able to grow. 🌱 A true learning culture isn’t just about sharing knowledge in a comfortable setting. It’s about combining challenging goals with psychological safety—where people feel secure enough to take risks, embrace feedback, and learn from both mistakes and achievements as a team. Our COO, Karin Lindberg Salevid, recently joined an inspiring seminar with UrbanUrban, exploring the crucial role of psychological safety in fast-growing organizations. Some key insights from the seminar: 👉 Challenging old truths and driving innovation is only possible when curious minds come together to learn and push boundaries as a team. 👉 When we feel safe, we dare to be curious, think big, and innovate—psychological safety empowers us to develop together and reach new heights. 👉 Creating a learning culture means encouraging people to step outside their comfort zones, knowing they’re supported to take on new challenges. 👉 Continuous improvement thrives when we’re open to feedback—even when it’s uncomfortable—and committed to learning and growing as a team. Thank you to Urban Urban for a great session and for being a valued partner on our journey to build a workplace where ambitious goals and psychological safety go hand in hand. 💚

  • What an energizing experience at the Green Power Sweden Summit ⚡ Yesterday, Ingrid attended the Green Power Sweden Summit - a gathering of frontrunners in storage, wind, and solar, alongside key policymakers shaping the future of energy. The discussions made one thing clear: the challenges facing our energy system are evolving, and proactive action is essential to secure our future competitiveness. Much remains to be done - and as new market models and increased flexibility emerge, we need to rethink the energy system of the past and make it fit for the future. This means both building new assets and using them in more intelligent ways, and also finding better ways to utilize and upgrade the infrastructure we already have. Ingrid’s Strategy Manager, Vincent Gliniewicz, participated in a panel on hybrid parks. Hybrid solutions - where wind, solar, and batteries work together - are one way to add more value to our energy system. The key going forward is collaboration and innovation. By sharing data, experiences, and solutions, we can build an energy system that is efficient, flexible, and sustainable. By optimizing and coordinating what exists - and adding intelligence through digital solutions and smart control - we can truly unlock the system’s potential. Thank you to the fellow panelists Anna Jäderström, Omid Ashrafi & Emma Hellström and moderator Niclas Sigholm for an inspiring discussion!

  • Europe doesn’t have an energy shortage — it has a connection problem. At the Sifted Summit 2025, our Co-Founder John Hunter moderated “Power Moves: Why Grid Tech is the Next Frontier for Climate Innovation.” The discussion tackled a key paradox: we can now operate stable systems with 70–80% intermittent renewables, yet hundreds of gigawatts remain stuck in connection queues. Participants agreed that the next leap won’t come from building ever more steel and copper — but from unlocking flexibility and intelligence within the grid we already have. We explored how faster permitting, local flexibility markets, and new coordination models between DSOs, industry, and technology providers could cut years off grid build-out timelines and reduce system costs. Thanks to everyone who joined the roundtable — and to Sifted for bringing together the people shaping how Europe’s power system actually evolves.

Ingrid’s CEO, Axel Holmberg, was featured in Second Opinion Energi, highlighting a crucial issue for Sweden’s energy future. To make a real change and deliver electricity where and when it’s needed most, flexibility is the key. It helps stabilize the grid, maximizes the value of renewables, and keeps costs down for both industry and consumers - today and in the future. To unlock the full potential of flexibility, we need: ⚡ Fair rules for flexible assets, such as battery storage, so they aren’t charged with double grid fees. ⚡ Incentives for grid operators to choose smarter, faster solutions over simply building more power lines. ⚡ Open access to grid data, making it easier for new solutions and innovation to thrive. Here, we should look at other countries for inspiration – Finland among them. 🔗 Link to the full op-ed in the comments (in Swedish) #Grid #Flexibility #Tech
