What if a single scratch on telecom equipment could disrupt millions of connections? Telecom hardware is more sensitive than we think. Abrasion from friction, vibration, or poor packaging can cause micro-damage that leads to performance loss and costly downtime. The good news is that innovative cushioning materials are being introduced to protect sensitive surfaces without compromising on sustainability. A major energy company came to Nefab looking to improve its existing packaging. The key challenge was that product was too wide to fit standard shipping containers, requiring reliance on flat racking which caused inefficiencies and higher shipping costs. To tackle these challenges, we selected CratePak as the optimal solution as it offers a smarter, more efficient design. To address this issue, Nefab delivered a compact, collapsible solution that reduces the need for flat racking, improving logistics efficiency. This solution also offers improved handling which reduces manual labor and improves worker safety. In addition, the more efficient and reusable design aligns with our customer’s sustainability goals. This new solution resulted in: - Streamlined shipping process - Improved handling process and efficient design - Optimized storage and logistics Learn more about the full solution here: https://lnkd.in/d_Td7-UQ #Nefab #SavingResources #Innovation #Sustainability #HighVoltageEquipment

Rick Demko Selected as Notable Leader in Sustainability 2025 by Plastics News We are beyond thrilled to share that Rick Demko, Director of Sustainability at PolyFlex – Part of Nefab Group, was selected as a Notable Leader in Sustainability 2025 by Plastics News. Rick’s dedication to building recycling networks and championing circular plastics has been built up over nearly two decades, and his work has been and will continue to be crucial to Nefab’s purpose of saving resources in supply chains. The strides that Rick and other leaders spotlighted in this piece have made in the world of sustainable plastics are inspiring, filling us with confidence that the narrative around plastics is shifting from a focus on single-use waste to one of re-use and longevity through smarter design and recycled materials. “Where we find ourselves in the plastics industry today feels like the culmination of all the hard work and dedication put in by sustainability experts over the years, who held onto the belief that our efforts would pay off someday. That day has come, and at Nefab, I consider myself fortunate to be surrounded by a team who clearly understands that environmental awareness does not have to come at the cost of excellent solutions for our customers,” says Rick. Congratulations to Rick and everyone selected for this year’s feature! Wooden pallet collars are excellent for returnable flows, but when used for one-way shipments, they create unnecessary waste and costs. That's why we developed EdgePak Collar - a lightweight, recyclable alternative that delivers: - 34% lower CO2 emissions and 49% less landfill waste in one-way flows - 40% weight reduction for lower transport costs - Same functionality as wooden collars "We worked closely with our customers to develop EdgePak Collar - a lighter, recyclable, and cost-effective alternative that significantly reduces both landfill waste and emissions without compromising functionality," said Johan Tegell, Product Area Director at Nefab. Companies can now use both solutions strategically - wooden collars for returnable flows and EdgePak Collar for one-way shipments.
