We were pleased to welcome note (design studio) to Vibia HQ for an inspiring session with our team. Creators of collections such as Musa and Chromatica, Note shared valuable reflections on Design and Beauty, exploring how emotion, light and space come together to shape atmospheres of wellbeing. An encounter that invited us to reconnect with the essence of design as a discipline capable of transforming everyday experiences into meaningful moments, and to celebrate our shared vision of design that promotes wellbeing. Here are some highlights from this inspiring visit. #vibia #lighting #lightingdesign #interiordesign #architecture

  • For Bob W. first Swedish property, we transformed a former 1960s hotel on Kammakargatan in central Stockholm into a technology-driven apartment hotel. The design embraces reuse as one of the guiding principle, preserving original features while introducing bold colors, curated vintage furniture, and contemporary detailing. The interiors merge the restrained sensibility of the building’s brutalist exterior with a vibrant, optimistic atmosphere that reflects the spirit of modern Stockholm. Each studio apartment is designed for both short and extended stays, combining home-like comfort with the brand’s digital guest experience. Monochromatic corridors contrast with playful, colorful interiors, creating a distinctive rhythm throughout the property. The result is an environment that tells a story of transformation—where the past is respected, the present celebrated, and the future anticipated.

  • Last month, at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, we collaborated once again with Vestre on creating an outdoor exhibition in the beautiful Operaparken. It all started with a simple question: What does it mean to belong, and how can design help create that feeling? The exhibition was spread across four zones, each inviting people to connect, relax, and feel welcome. We used intense colours and large shapes to guide visitors and highlight Vestre’s furniture, creating spaces for gathering, reflection, and conversation. The installation was divided into four zones, each exploring the idea of belonging in different ways. Some areas encouraged people to gather, while others offered quiet moments of reflection. There was a large communal table by the water, a central space for events, and peaceful corners to sit and enjoy the view. Unlike earlier collaborations, this one took place in a living, public park. That called for a different approach—something bold enough to be seen, but still respectful of Operaparken’s calm and natural character. In the end, our goal was to design a space that felt generous and inclusive, a place that quietly said, "You already belong." #notedesignstudio #vestre aerial images Astrid Maria other images ALET Agency #3daysofdesign25

Sanna Wåhlin, interior architect and partner at Note Design Studio, loves summertime. We asked her what she loves so much about it, and why she wouldn’t spend it anywhere else but in Sweden. “Since summers in Sweden are quite short, and it’s my absolute favourite time of year, I want to capture every moment of it, and don’t go anywhere else.” In our newly released Shades of Summer magazine, you’ll find the full interview with Sanna plus an exclusive pasta recipe from Pastafabriken – one of Sanna’s favourite local restaurants - and much more. Shades of Summer is available at participating stores. You can also preview the digital magazine at fritzhansen.com.

  • Last week in New York, we at Note Design Studio were proud to launch Myr and Mylla – two new knitted textile collections we have designed for Kvadrat Febrik. It was a very special moment for us, not only because of the exhibition at Kvadrat’s showroom on 475 Park Avenue, but also because Myr and Mylla were awarded Fabric of the Year at the 2025 NYCxDESIGN Awards, hosted by Interior Design Magazine. These textiles are the first Kvadrat Febrik collections made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. For us, this project started with the idea of irregularities – how both natural and manmade surfaces often show imperfections that make them feel alive. We wanted to create textiles that felt soft, a bit unstructured, and full of character. During the 5 years developing process, we worked with many physical tests and hand-sewn prototypes to explore how stitching and texture could create a sense of randomness and depth. In the exhibition, we wanted people to really experience the textiles, not only look at them. So we created large, pillow-like shapes made from Myr and Mylla that visitors can touch, move, and explore. The shapes are familiar, but their big scale creates a contrast with the clean, square space of the showroom. The two collections are designed to match and enhance each other, and we hope the installation feels a little bit unexpected – playful, colourful, and inspiring. It has been a challenge and a joy to work on this project with the Kvadrat team, and we are happy to finally share it with others. #notedesignstudio

  • Unveiled last week at the Kvadrat showroom in Stockholm, Focus Spaces is a modular system for Zilenzio designed to transform the modern workplace. Moving away from rigid, enclosed rooms creates open, intimate spaces that foster natural conversation and connection—the soft seating contrasts with traditional office furniture, offering a more relaxed, human-centered environment. Focus Spaces prioritizes atmosphere, interaction, and well-being in a world focused on efficiency. It’s not just about productivity but creating a space where informal gatherings and spontaneous dialogue are encouraged. Like a modern-day campfire, Focus Spaces draws people together, sparking ideas and collaboration. Its modular design allows for flexible configurations, adapting to changing needs while maintaining a cohesive, functional workspace. #notedesignstudio Photo Erik Lefvander

  • We’ve reimagined Tarkett Ateljé Stockholm, infusing it with a fresh perspective that emphasizes materials and interaction. Tarkett Ateljé started as a space to push the boundaries of homogeneous vinyl, proving it could do more than just cover floors—it became a hub for workshops and discussions. Now, it’s evolving into a dynamic platform that showcases the brand’s full material range, sparking creativity and conversation in fresh, unexpected ways. Designed as a three-dimensional mood board, the showroom layers materials in unconventional ways, integrating not only flooring and wall cladding but also furniture elements. This immersive approach encourages visitors to experience Tarkett’s textures and colors in new contexts, inspiring fresh possibilities for interior spaces. #notedesignstudio https://lnkd.in/dUNzmkd4
