  • Eco Commitment Azendeans participated in BCA Academy's support of The One Million Trees movement, a nationwide effort to plant a million more trees across Singapore over the next 10 years. On the BCA Tree Planting Day, the community of students, staff and BE Innovation Hub’ partners came together to plant 60 Eugenia saplings on the BCA Braddell Campus, offsetting the carbon footprint for BCA's Graduation Ceremony on 15 November. At the same time, the event helped the budding of community spirit in the BCA Braddell Campus - engaging partners and tenants in shared eco-commitment to conserve the environment. #BCAACADEMY #ONEMILLIONTREES

  • Creating new memories with seniors September marked the second visit to the Lions Home for the elders by volunteers from Azendian. It was a time of creating new memories with cheer and laugher as Azendeans engaged seniors in hand making photo frames followed by capturing moments with instant photos complete with fun props. It was an intergenerational event as young interns were roped in to lead and organize the activities, injecting their creativity and energy. Tea time also allowed the younger set to serve the seniors with traditional soya bean curd and ‘yu tiao’ (dough sticks). The day ended on a high note as seniors and volunteers shared excitement over winning prizes playing Bingo.

Early adopter of hybrid cooling alternatives Overcooling in commercial buildings in Singapore accounts for as much as 50 percent of the total energy required for cooling, resulting in unnecessary energy usage and contributes to environmental impact – Singapore Green Building Council CEO Yvonne Soh shared this and other findings of a recent survey involving 5,000 respondents. Surprisingly, more than half of the respondents indicated that they preferred maintaining indoor temperatures at 24 deg C or warmer. Read more in story below. Azendian is an early adopter of hybrid cooling or Mixed Mode Ventilation (MMV), walking the talk in its sustainability commitment by becoming a living lab in its office premises at Building and Construction Authority Braddell Campus. Azendeans also participated in the living lab initiative having adorned wearables to capture data on the body’s response to the MMV mode. Today, they have not only responded and adapted well to the MMV but have found that the warmer climes promoted better productivity. MMV offers a sustainable alternative, operating on the principle of cooling only when necessary, prioritising natural ventilation to achieve thermal comfort and supplementing with ceiling fans and localised cooling as needed. This approach not only enhances energy efficiency but also offers increased resilience in the face of future pandemics and haze episodes, due to its flexibility in switching between various operating modes. With data-driven insights and AI tech, Azendian Solutions can help asset and business owners as well as building and facilities managers to make informed decisions about energy optimisation measures for sustainable cooling without compromising comfort levels. https://lnkd.in/eP8f3qFd
