On Saturday, October 4, CIT Columbus hosted the first Indigitous #HACK in Columbus, Ohio, a one-day, 12-hour hackathon in partnership with Indigitous US and hosted by Leading EDJE. We were blessed to welcome Simon Seow, co-founder of Indigitous from Singapore, who shared about Indigitous Global, #HACK, and the ways God has used him in ministry. About 30 attendees worked on product development projects to serve people locally and globally. 🌍 📖 #HACK Theme: "Go into the world..." “Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” — Mark 16:15 In 2025 that “world” can look like your school, office, neighborhood, gaming community, social media, product work, media projects, and digital outreach. 💡 🛠️ Mark 16:15 in action: What Teams Explored & Built Teams explored a range of ideas across global challenges and local needs. Highlights included an off-grid communications concept that enables missionaries and ministry teams in remote parts of the world to connect phone to phone and gateway to gateway without relying on cell towers. On the local side here in Columbus, OH, work for The Bridge Ministry produced a demo showing how a simple, user-friendly web app could help participants in its Employment Program understand which benefits might change when they accept a job, which benefits they will keep, and practical ways to preserve critical help during a transition to work. Other teams contributed to Christians in Tech projects that are already in active development and will continue beyond the event as part of our biweekly meetup series. Couldn’t join in person? #HACK runs all October. Join the #HACK Global Discord to follow projects from cities around the world and contribute where you feel led. (Link in the comments.) 🙌 Shout-out to our Planning Team & Volunteers Nathan Speich, Cody Steffy, Lizabeth Leal, Robert A. Fornal, Asheley Mudzingwa, Pedro Echavarria, Tauren Cook, and Nia Questel 👏 Special thanks to our Sponsors & Partners - Leading EDJE - Bethel World Prayer Center - Liza’s Bakery - Fruits & Roots Coffee Roasters - KW Crafted Solutions - BrowserStack #HACKColumbus #ChristiansInTech #Indigitous #FaithAndTech #Columbus #TechCommunity
