Maritime Transportation

A Global Leader in the Maritime Transport Industry

About us

“K” Line commenced operations in Singapore in 1973, under Kawasaki Singapore (Pte) Limited (subsequently known as “K” Line (Singapore) Pte Ltd) and became a fully-fledged shipping agency in 1981. In 2001, “K” Line Pte Ltd (KLPL) was established and took over the business to manage the global operations and trade management marketing of the containership business, and to support quality control for the car carrier services from “K” Line (Singapore) Pte Ltd. In 2018, we successfully integrated our containership business into the global container shipping group, Ocean Network Express Pte Ltd, and streamlined our operations in Singapore, grouping “K” Line (Singapore) Pte Ltd and KSP Infosystems Pte Ltd under KLPL. KLPL operates approximately 20 vessels of various ship sizes. Giving us the flexibility to tailor our shipping service to different capacities and cargo requirements. Our main trading routes for dry bulk include Australia to the Middle East, the Middle East to India/South East Asia, East Coast South America to China, and Australia to the Far East. Our Aframax tankers mainly serve customers in the Asia Pacific region, and our chemical tankers trade worldwide.

"K" line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd) hosted a friendly gathering in Tokyo with maritime journalists, bringing together more than 60 participants. Joining the occasion were Chairman Yukikazu Myochin and President Takenori Igarashi, alongside senior executives from across the K LINE Group.   Reflecting on his first five months since becoming President in March, Igarashi shared “There have been various events during this period, but the most significant has been U.S. trade policy. Yet, during this time, several of the projects we have been preparing have moved into action. We are steadily realizing them one by one.” K LINE is now moving forward with new businesses, including liquefied CO₂ carriers for carbon capture and storage (CCS) and geotechnical survey vessels supporting offshore wind development.   https://lnkd.in/gR3iZQDS #MaritimeCommunityinJapan #ShippingIndustry #MaritimeInnovation #Decarbonization #CarbonCapture #OffshoreWind #EnergyTransition #SustainableShipping

From 1 September to 3 October 2025, they embarked on a twelve-day journey of self-reflection, leadership growth, and exploration of the latest trends and innovations in the maritime sector. The programme brought together industry thought leaders and speakers from institutions such as NUS Business School, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and Inha University 인하대학교. Together, they discussed challenges in the maritime sector, from complex operating environments and geopolitical uncertainties to climate change pressures. Learning extended beyond the classroom. Participants visited Pyxis and #MPA’s Maritime Cyber Assurance Operations Centre, where they gained firsthand insights into the latest developments in sustainability, security cooperation, and cybersecurity. As part of the overseas learning trip, participants travelled to Seoul and Busan in South Korea to witness cutting-edge maritime innovations up close. Their engagements with Korean maritime companies and public agencies broadened their perspectives and deepened their understanding of key global developments beyond Singapore. The MLP also encouraged personal reflection on leadership and management. Through robust discussions on managing teams, finding purpose, and exploring diverse perspectives on decarbonisation, manpower development, and AI adoption, participants developed a clearer sense of what the industry needs to nurture new talent and future leaders for Maritime Singapore. The MPA Academy extends heartfelt thanks to our esteemed speakers, partners, and friends for their insightful sharing and candid discussions — Avikus, Busan Port Authority, Hanwha Ocean, Korean Register (KR), Kuok Group Singapore, PSA International Pusan Newport International Terminal, Puay Guan Goh, Pyxis, Michael PHOON, PBM, Steen Lund, Samsung Heavy Industries, Seadronix Corp., Su Yin Anand, Chong Meng Tan, Ministry of Manpower/Tripartite Alliance Limited, Wei Yim Yap, and Young-Tae Chang Since its inaugural run in 2021, MPA has trained over 100 senior management participants from across the maritime ecosystem who have gone on to contribute meaningfully to Maritime Singapore. And……WE DID IT! Emerging as Champions of the CDL-GCNS Young SDG Leaders Awards seemed like only a dream when I first entered this competition. But here the team stands, with six months of hard work paying off with a championship in hand!✨ Words cannot define how incredible of a learning experience this has been. From Phase 1, where we had to uncover the impacts of the hospitality industry on the environment, and find new and innovative methods to address these impacts; to Phase 2, where we created K-CALC, a Scope 3 emissions calculator for "K” Line Pte Ltd (Singapore), diving into the complicated but rewarding process of building robust formulas, conducting in-depth research into how Scope 3 emissions are measured and reported across the maritime industry, and finally designing and developing an interactive prototype that could translate all that complexity into a practical tool.  Working on K-CALC showed me how sustainability is rarely straightforward — it’s layered, complex, and requires collaboration across many industries and people. It was a great honour to present K-CALC at the 17th UNGCNS Summit, where we shared about K-CALC’s various features and its architectural diagram, as well as its main advantage – the ability to pull data directly from a company’s existing database without need for additional systems. An undoubted highlight of the Summit was having the opportunity to meet such great figures in the sustainability field, like CDL’s Chief Sustainability Officer Esther An, Dr. Matt Dearth, PhD and UNGCNS Director of Operations Mr Reddiam Raghu Ram! It was truly inspiring to see and hear the passion about sustainability that they all possess! Of course, I can’t forget the team that worked through sleepless nights with me, Jurrienne Ang, Shae Gan, Clare Chan — Team SDGeniuses🌍. This team truly has been one of the best ones I have been a part of, and I don't know how I would’ve gotten through these six months without you guys. A big thank you to our mentor from “K” Line, Chen Y., and our student mentor Jin Pin Lim, for guiding us through this project, and to Jeffrey Lee for helping out on the technical portions of creating K-CALC. Also grateful to Ngee Ann Polytechnic for the opportunity to attend this competition, and our lecturers, Ms Candy and Mr Melvin, who guided us throughout these few months. Finally, of course, the teams at City Developments Limited and UN Global Compact Network Singapore that put this competition together! This is not the end, but just the beginning of a journey to drive real impact for sustainability. A big congratulations to my fellow winners too, I’m excited to see where this path takes us next!🍀 #UNGCNS #YoungSDGLeaders #Sustainability #NgeeAnnPoly

🌏 UN Global Compact Network Singapore Summit 2025: Highlights and Reflections “When business leads with purpose, trust follows. When we move forward together, our progress is unstoppable.” – Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General and CEO, United Nations Global Compact. 🌟 Over 450 business leaders, policymakers, investors, and changemakers came together at the 17th UNGCNS Summit to explore how we can move forward faster through collective action and leadership for a sustainable future. From Guest of Honour Ms Indranee Rajah’s keynote calling for credible standards to unlock sustainable finance, to the Fireside Chat highlighting how businesses and youth are driving real change, the Summit sparked open, solutions-driven dialogue across sectors. Key themes that emerged: 💡Across every plenary and breakout sessions, one message stood out: collaboration is the currency of progress. 💡 Credible standards and data transparency are vital for mobilising sustainable finance and investor trust. 💡 Social sustainability, especially human rights in the supply chain, is becoming increasingly prioritised. 💡 Smart capital and strong governance are key to translating ambition into action. 💡 Biodiversity and nature are now central to business strategy and not a side note. 💡 AI and technology are transforming how companies measure, manage and scale sustainability impact. 💡 Supply chain decarbonisation is a collective responsibility across sectors and borders. The Summit wrapped up with a lively debate on the future of carbon markets and a candid closing plenary on how AI is reshaping sustainability, followed by closing remarks from our newly appointed Executive Director, David Fogarty FRICS, PISEP, REnvP, who reminded us that progress happens when business, government, and society move forward together with purpose. We also unveiled our latest report, “Bridging the Green Impact Gap in Singapore”, produced in collaboration with Schneider Electric. Download the report for insights from 1,000 business leaders on how Singapore can lead the regional sustainability agenda.https://https://lnkd.in/gfH_ccU9 A heartfelt thank you to Resorts World Sentosa for hosting us as well as our Titanium Sponsors, DBS Bank and Schneider Electric, along with the rest of our sponsors, for their support in the success of our Summit. We also extend our sincere thanks to all our speakers, facilitators, partners, and delegates for making the Summit a milestone moment of learning, inspiration, and collective momentum. Here’s to the next chapter of action, collaboration, and shared purpose in building a more sustainable Singapore and world. 🌿 #UNGCNSSummit2025 #ForwardFaster #Sustainability #Leadership #CollectiveAction #PartnershipsForTheGoals #UnitingBusiness

We’re proud to announce our collaboration with "K" Line Energy Shipping (UK) Limited to jointly develop and market floating storage and injection units (FSIUs) and liquefied CO₂ carriers.   This partnership brings together Yinson Production’s deep offshore engineering expertise and “K” LINE’s proven capabilities in CO₂ shipping to deliver safe and efficient solutions for carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.   FSIUs offer a game-changing alternative for offshore CCS, especially where land or pipeline constraints limit onshore options. One such opportunity is Norway’s Havstjerne carbon storage project, which is 40% owned by Stella Maris CCS, a unit of Yinson Production.   This initiative strengthens our partnership that began in 2018, with our co-ownership of FPSOs in Brazil and Ghana.   By combining our FPSO know-how with 'K' LINE’s CO₂ transport expertise, we’re developing a one-stop solution to support large-scale CCS and help industrial emitters decarbonise.   We look forward to supporting the growth of the CCS sector and accelerating progress toward global decarbonisation.
