Mr. Yam Keng Baey, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth and Ministry of Transport, graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour. Our sponsors raised over $36,000 toward the Garden City Fund, a registered charity and IPC under the National Parks Board, which aims to plant one million more trees across Singapore by 2030. The additional trees along the Rail Corridor improves air quality, reduces the impact of urbanisation, and safeguards natural habitats and biodiversity, while encouraging recreational use by the public. Yesterday, the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with "K” Line Pte Ltd (Singapore), reinforcing our long-standing partnership and demonstrating our shared commitment to supporting the development of maritime talent through the MaritimeONE Scholarship and Internship Programme. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2025 🌊 The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) joins the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the global maritime community to commemorate World Maritime Day 2025 today. The IMO has designated this year’s theme to be "𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑶𝒄𝒆𝒂𝒏, 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑶𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑶𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚." This theme reinforces the importance of working collaboratively to reduce pollution, protect marine life and shift to sustainable habits. Through programmes such as beach clean-ups with the Ocean Purpose Project, we can make an impactful difference as one industry. This morning, Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) welcomed 100 maritime leaders to our second 𝐂-𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 this year. Mr. Vivek Lath and Dr. Philipp Rau, Partners at McKinsey & Company, presented on the topic “𝑺𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝑰 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆: 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕” which covered the latest AI developments, applications in maritime, case studies of early adopters, and strategies to scale impact effectively.
