Celebrating Growth, Connection and Empowerment 🌱 YWLC’s Pay-It-Forward (PIF) Mentorship Programme celebrated the completion of its 9th cycle on 20 September 2025 with a graduation ceremony at EY Wavespace, proudly supported by our official partner, EY, and community partners International Women's Forum and Institute of Technical Education colleges. Since 2017, the PIF Mentorship Programme has empowered young women with the skills, confidence, and guidance to navigate their personal and professional journeys. This year, under the theme “Rise and Thrive – Elevate Together,” mentors and mentees looked back on six months of learning, growth, and mutual support. From heartfelt letters of gratitude to sharing of inspiring stories, the event celebrated both personal milestones and the collective power of community. The creation of such safe spaces allows for growth, reflection, and connection, where women uplift and inspire one another to rise and thrive together. If you may know of a young lady aged 17-21 years old who is keen on receiving a mentor or if you may be keen to work with us on PIF’s program, we welcome all collaborations as we look forward to a milestone 10th year run of the program in 2026. Let’s continue paying it forward and elevating our community together 💜 #YWLC #PayItForward #Mentorship #LeadershipDevelopment #WomenEmpowerment #RiseAndThrive #ElevateTogether

🌟 Mentorship Masterclass #1: Growth and Resilience in the Age of AI 🤖 On Saturday, 4 October 2025, over 40 mentees from the YWLC Mentorship Programme gathered at the iconic OCBC Centre for our first masterclass of the year: “Growth and Resilience in the Age of AI.” We learnt that the OCBC Centre itself is a historical building designed by I.M. Pei, a symbol of Singapore’s spirit of reinvention; a fitting backdrop for a session about transformation in the digital age. The morning brought together an inspiring panel of speakers — Monica Bhatia (Kapur) (LinkedIn), Sonia Gupta (Accenture), Elaine Heng (OCBC), and Donald MacDonald (OCBC) — who shared insights on how AI is reshaping industries and redefining the skills needed to lead the future of work. In the second half, Shilpa S Nath, Founder of Women in AI (for Good) and a YWLC alumna, led a hands-on workshop that encouraged participants to experiment with AI tools and uncover how technology can add value to their daily lives. ✨ Key reflections from the day: 💬 AI doesn’t replace human value — it amplifies it. 💬 Adaptability is the real skill of the future. 💬 Start with a problem that matters, and work from there. From heritage to innovation, this session reminded us that progress begins when we stay curious, embrace change, and keep people at the heart of transformation. 💡 Here’s to growing, learning, and leading with purpose as we continue our mentorship journey together. #MentorshipWithYWLC #WomenInLeadership #AIforGood #GrowthAndResilience #YWLCCommunity #WomenInAI #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfWork

What does it truly take to thrive as a leader in the age of AI? On 20 September, we explored this question at YWLC Leadership Development subcommittee's latest Breakfast Club session, featuring deep insights from Sunday Domingo (Standard Chartered), Karen Tay (Inherent Journey), and Sabrina Princessa Wang (Futurist & People's Inc. 360). The consensus was clear: Success in the AI Era demands a fundamentally human-centric approach. Instead of fearing replacement, we must see AI as a collaborative partner. It handles the heavy lifting (80% of drafting, data analysis, and automation), freeing us up for the essential 20% i.e. critical thinking, ethical direction, and specialised knowledge. 💡 What leaders need to focus on right now: 🤝 Prioritising Human Skills: Communication, empathy, and emotional literacy are the new foundations of resilient leadership. They are the differentiators that AI cannot replicate. 📈 Productivity Redefined: The goal isn't just to do more, but to leverage AI to generate smarter, more strategic results, and then reinvest the time saved into higher-order, truly human work. 📝 Mastering the Prompt: The quality of the output depends on us. We need to provide AI with clear direction by setting objectives, scope, and desired format. 🌱 Embracing Growth: Cultivate a growth mindset and be willing to experiment. Discomfort is a sign you're innovating! Thank you to our speakers for sharing their wisdom and to Open Government Products for being our venue partner! ✨ Leadership begins with presence✨ At YWLC, we believe that great leadership stems from self-awareness, empathy, and intentional action. In our latest workshop, “Mentorship x PMP: Mindful Leadership”, we partnered with Growthbeans to explore how mindfulness plays a role in our leadership style and effectiveness. Through guided reflection and hands-on game activities, participants developed greater self awareness, purpose-driven action (e.g. decision making through active listening) and personal leadership, empowering them to navigate dynamic work environments with greater empathy, intention, and influence. Curious how mindfulness is reshaping the way young women lead and mentor? Mentorship often begins with questions - what makes mentorship meaningful? What can we learn from one another, regardless of our stage in life? These were some of the reflections shared at the recent YWLC Mentorship Info Session 2025, held in partnership with Accenture. The session brought together mentors (Dr Jade Kua MCC, MSc Trauma Sciences, Sonia Gupta) and mentees (Lee Dayna, MDRT Chartered Financial Consultant, Felicia F., Yuxin Seow) from the current cohort to share how mentorship has shaped their leadership, growth, and purpose. ✨ From the power of informal, generous spaces ✨ To the importance of shared context in building trust ✨ Mutual learning that defines a great mentorship journey One thing was clear: mentorship at YWLC isn’t transactional—it’s transformational.
