While deep technical expertise and data science are nowadays a must, putting analytics into the context of the (healthcare) business is a non-trivial last mile item that ensures that analytics was not for naught. When Alex built out Consulting and Analytics at Collective Health, he set the tenets and built the foundation of having a tightly integrated team of consulting actuaries and data scientists. This integration continues to be the secret ingredient for the team’s success long after Alex departed Collective Health.
