DigiGirlz Singapore resulted in 216 participants with 41 parents & teachers with 175 students almost 2.5x more than FY16. The intention was driven by Jeannette Wing's Carnegie Mellon white paper (now CVP, Microsoft Research) to include Parents & have a Teacher agenda to influence the student. DigiGirlz Singapore resulted in 216 participants with 41 parents & teachers with 175 students almost 2.5x more than FY16. The intention was driven by Jeannette Wing's Carnegie Mellon white paper (now CVP, Microsoft Research) to include Parents & have a Teacher agenda to influence the student. An inclusion to have AWWA (NGO) girls of the same target age 13-16yo also helped embrace our vision. Mentors from the sub were assigned to every MACH Intern for the entire 3mths leading up to event landing. Impact was evident in both student +1 to 7 & parent/teacher +2 to 8 (post vs pre event survey 10pt scale) on their likelihood to pursue a career in STEM. Show less

These workshops incorporate training to empower Cyber Wellness Student Ambassadors with the knowledge and skills to initiate, plan and implement possible cyber wellness activities that they can carry out back in their schools, under the guidance of Cyber Wellness Teacher Coordinators.

Mentored students in Primary 4 and Secondary 2, the Cyber Wellness Student Ambassador Programme equip students with knowledge and skills on how to use online tools safely, it also provided schools with an extended platform to complement and support their existing cyber wellness education efforts. Through positive peer influence and peer education, the Programme provided a platform for cyber wellness messages to be delivered from the youths’ viewpoint. Student Ambassadors also benefited from their direct involvement as they are actively engaged in planning and designing activities to propagate cyber wellness messages.

The Cyber Wellness Student Ambassador Programme was launched to promote safe and responsible use of Information‐Communication Technologies (ICT) among students through peer education.
