Appointment of Chairman to Azendian’s Sustainability and Growth Advisory Committee   Azendian welcomes Mr Tan Boon Khai as Chairman of its Sustainability and Growth Advisory Committee.    Boon Khai was previously CEO of JTC Corporation and SLA. Prior to this, he was Country Head of the Ascott Hospitality Group (part of Capitaland) for Singapore and Malaysia.    As a seasoned Board Director, Boon Khai is presently on the boards of CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust, Singapore Aerospace Manufacturing, and Vanguard Health. He has also served in the past as Deputy Chairman of the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co Ltd as well as Jurong Port.    Welcoming Boon Khai to the role, Bill Lee, Azendian’s Founder & CEO said, “As Azendian continues its strong growth as a key sustainability platform, we welcome Boon Khai in this new capacity to help the Company’s commitment in delivering long-term value to customers and stakeholders."   Boon Khai brings with him years of key strategic leadership in sustainability, innovation, and strategic growth. His proven track record and deep understanding in the built environment sector will be instrumental in advancing our next growth journey.   In a rapidly evolving landscape where sustainability increasingly shapes the priorities of businesses and investors, Boon Khai will chair the Sustainability and Growth Advisory Committee as a key adviser to the Company in providing insight, guidance, and direction - ensuring that the Company’s software solutions remain future-ready, commercially relevant, and capable of delivering measurable sustainability benefits across the built environment.    We are excited to welcome Boon Khai to this pivotal leadership role and look forward to the valuable contributions he will bring as we continue to advance our sustainability mission and strategic growth ambitions.

YTL Hotels acquires Thistle Johor, plans 2026 relaunch as five-star property YTL Corp Bhd's hospitality arm, YTL Hotels, has acquired the 380-room Thistle Hotel in Johor Bahru from GuocoLand Ltd in a RM150 million deal, underscoring its confidence in Johor's rise as a regional economic and tourism hub. The acquisition marks a strategic expansion milestone in Malaysia's fast-growing southern corridor, where Johor is being transformed by mega infrastructure projects, the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, and increasing cross-border travel with Singapore. The 17-storey property located in Jalan Sungai Chat close to the city centre will undergo a full-scale refurbishment before reopening in 2026 as a five-star destination hotel featuring premium accommodation, curated dining concepts, modern event and meeting facilities, and lifestyle-oriented leisure offerings tailored for both international and domestic markets. Executive chairman of YTL Corporation Bhd, Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh, said the deal reflects the group's commitment to advancing Malaysia's tourism landscape. "Johor Bahru is a state of extraordinary potential, experiencing tremendous growth and transformation. We are proud to contribute to this momentum by introducing a new international hotel experience to the region. This approach enables us to capture broader hospitality opportunities while better serving our growing base of Ascott Star Rewards members. Examples include 11 recent resort signings in popular leisure destinations, such as an Oakwood in Bali's Jimbaran Bay, a Somerset in Nha Trang, and a Citadines in Phu Quoc. Kevin outlined this strategic expansion at the 1H 2025 results briefing of CapitaLand Investment (CLI), the parent company of Ascott. The results demonstrate momentum, with CLI’s lodging business recording a 5% growth in RevPAU in the reporting period, supported by sustained ADR growth in Japan and Korea and improved occupancy in Europe. Fee-related earnings grew ~4% year-on-year to S$172 million.
