The Kellogg Innovation Network (KIN) is reframing the mission and role of a premier business school—as an independent convening platform for accelerating innovation dialogue and action. KIN Global 2009 was a defining moment for Kellogg, bringing together delegates from academia, government, non profits and a wide range of industries: healthcare, technology, defense, utilities and communications to workshop on ideas related to building global prosperity.

We devoted most program time to executives and thought leaders who presented their insights, innovation challenges and open questions. Kellogg faculty members acted as facilitators and synthesizers. Moreover, delegates did not just attend, they participated in the creation of new knowledge.

Prior to, during and after the summit, opportunities were created for delegates to generate meaningful perspectives, research projects and avenues for collaboration. Through events like KIN Global, we are building a network of thought leaders who have the collective ability to advance the global prosperity agenda

STIX was created as part of a complex strategy to have Singapore become the regional Internet hub. STIX provided three core functions. First, it was a Internet transit service for Internet Service providers in the region. The competitive edge was to provide global Internet transit services AND regional connectivity. The regional connectivity was critical to reduce the latency from “bouncing Asian traffic” off the US. Second, STIX provided a means for SingNet’s regional bi-lateral peering - AP-Mesh. It provides an incentive for the peering to take place. All the AP-Mesh peers received all the SingNet routes and all the STIX routes - making the bi-lateral interconnect more valuable. Finally, SITX provided a peering hub to supplement the three part of the Singapore Internet Backbone (SIB). The SIB trilateral agreement allowed for all local routes and all routes from connections that terminated in Singapore. This means all the STIX routes would be shared with Pacific Internet and Cyberway. This approached turned Singapore into a valuable hub for which to connect. It utility is proven with its longevity. nearly 20 years after its creation, STIX is still a thriving service in Singapore Telecom’s portfolio of services (see http://info.singtel.com/business/products-and-services/internet/singtel-internet-exchange-stix)
